It does indeed cost a lot more...

I'm not impressed with a 32 ohm flagship T1 but at least it's a product. Kinda.
This really feels like Sennheiser is out of touch with the customer. Look over some of the ideas people had in this thread for a new headphone from Sennheiser and look what we got. @Arniesb joke is unfortunately right on target.
..but the cheap A20 is not a good compare to the A1. The A1 cost 3-4x more money than the A20. The A1 is much better.
The problem is that the Beyerdynamic A1 appears to have been discontinued and is unobtainable - looking it up on Google finds a few sources, all of which say unavailable, including Amazon.
Yes, that‘s correct. It‘s sometimes difficult to find. Only used. I bought him in a auction. Maybe it is easier to find it on a europe platform. The problem is that the Beyerdynamic A1 appears to have been discontinued and is unobtainable - looking it up on Google finds a few sources, all of which say unavailable, including Amazon.
Is new paint the only thing that's new about the Sennheiser HD 800S Anniversary Edition Gold?

From the Sennheiser page: https://en-us.sennheiser.com/hd-800-s-anniversary
Technical features & sound tuning identical to HD 800 S
So basically, the only things different to the stock HD800S are the new colorway and an engraving. Putting it politely, it looks a bit underwhelming from Sennheiser.

Still enjoy watching this once a year. Gotta laugh at our hobbies!

Haha, I watched it with no sound and read the subtitles. Hilarious. But then hearing and understanding most of the Spanish kinda takes the magic away...
Since Beyer has released T1 gen 3, who thinks Sennheiser may have a new HD800 in the horizon?
Going by history, original HD800 was released in 2009 and HD800S in 2015, so a new HD800 in 2021 then?
That gold edition one looks so ugly to me personally.

If so, it will have 30 ohm impedance, 110 dB/mW sensitivity, and come with a 2.5mm balanced connector. It will be a true vindication of all the guys who claim you can run a pair of 800s right off a phone no problem
Don't forget, the microphone will mute automatically when you tilt it up and the LED ring around the earcups will turn off when the headset is muted.
And then, Beats will be back on top again

Is anyone using the Fiio M15 to feed the 800s? How is that?
I am kinda used to the Shure KSE1200. Does the 800s come close to that one on a M15? I love the KSE1200 but I could do with a bit beefier sound, while keeping soundstage and detail.
