I am a senn hd600 owner, thinking about getting the hd800s. my one big question is does the 800s have more or less bass then the hd600? i keep hearing about the hd800s being bass shy. i like the bass on the 600s.

Definitely more bass (not mid bass...)

Deeper, more articulate (when it’s present on the recording) for me.

The 800 is a totally different beast with superb performance over the 600 in every aspect including bass

HAHAHAHA that put a smile on my face...I feel your pain, delivery time has blown out so much, I was lucky only took a week on express delivery. They are well worth the wait, I swear I can hear so much more, listening to the album "Jazz at the Pawnshop" and each time I hear people in the background I keep turning around thinking they are in my house....feel such a prat..

I got my HD800s yesterday, listened to them a bit, and a little more today. I was expecting something different to be honest, I never heard them before and most of the online impressions describe the HD800s as clinical, treble fatiguing, bass light etc etc.
Instead, I found them reaaaaaly smooth, with good timbre and imaging, definitely not fatiguing.
They are clearly different from the Meze Empyrean, and switching between them in rapid succession is a shock, but it doesn’t take long for the mind and the ears to adapt.
One good thing, one bad thing:
- on the good side, oh my God, they are so comfortable, more than the Meze, they are lighter and the pads leave more space to my ears.
- on the bad side, I hate those connectors: the cable is so hard to unplug from the headphones, I‘m sure I will end up scratching the cups

A bit of practise and it's easy. Thumb and forefinger gripping the metal part of the cable that is connected to the headphone. Firmly pull it out. A very slight wiggle as you pull is the trick.

With one hand holding the headphone cup, the other hand's thumb and forefinger gripping the metal part.

Figure it out first before attempting. Don't scratch your new HD800S. :)

No, no. A picture is not going to do it, mate. If you've got this down to the point of being "easy," you've got to post a video or gif or something. I need to know the secret. We all do. I think we would we all see it as a heroic public service if you could render removing the cable from these headphones an easy process. My current method of extraction is so nerve-wracking I avoid removing the cables entirely.

Ok I hope this video is good enough.

You make it look so easy. My approach looks more like pulling a horseshoe. Thanks for the video!
