I love the HD650 and HD600. Not sure if I should jump on my own Hype Train and buy them before the reviews come out.
So wait, these are supposed to be like an HD650 with even more bass? I'm an HD600 fan over the 650s, although my number one complaint would probably be that i might want a smidge more bass on them. Yet I have never liked the 650s. So, these don't really appeal to me from what I've read so far. I'd love to try a pair, though.
I've only read one or two impressions so far , seems like what they described is more like 660 "extends" hd650 bass- which is often noted to be rolled off below 50 or 60hz or so and also prone to some distortion? Think I'll be waiting for Innerfidelity's measurements to see what's up relative to 600/50
When I compared the HD650 with the HD600 of a friend, I found that they sound very close to each other. I do not really get why one should be better or worse. I didn't like the paint job and the cable of the HD600 though. Other cans from different makers sound by far more different than these two siblings to me.
Really looking forward to these. The HD 600/650 is for many still the best headphone design of all time, so it´s no small feat to upgrade that line. For me this is the biggest news in headphones since the HD 800 launch Hopefully we can get some measurements of these soon. I´d personally like to see less midbass boost than the in the HD 650 (which is why I like the HD 600 more) and instead extend the bass to go deeper. Less distortion in the sub bass area would be nice to see too.
I have pair of HD 600 and i love them but bit more bass and these can be even better. I just wonder can these be THE hp´s for me. I´m also lookin Focal Elears but these just come and nailed my attention.
If we go by the trend that they did with HD800 and HD800s(gave folks what they wanted). They are more likely have less bass and more clarity/treble. HD700ish drivers indicate towards the same.
I bought my first pair of HD650s a couple weeks ago... and then another with Massdrop’s HD6XX this morning... and now these? Why not!
Because I couldn't pass up a good deal on the HD6XXs.I'd like to try their lower ohm variant for my portable set up.
Absolute Sounds has a press release from Sennheiser saying they'll be available 'Mid October'. Um, that would be... Monday, yes? http://www.theabsolutesound.com/art...rs-even-better-sound-comfort-and-versatility/ 'The HD 660 S will be available from mid-October for 499.95 USD and 679.95 CAD'
