The headband of my hd650 started to flake after 2 years.

How does velour flake?

He means the paint in the head band. Mine flaked as well after a couple of years.

Loving my 650s and Valhalla (driver foam mod and my own cable also).

Do you guys who have flaking headbands use a headphone stand?
I don't have one yet but i rest my headphones on top of a large piece of packing foam. It was meant to be temporary but i never got around to buying a proper stand.

Mine were purchased used with the paint already flaking off of the headband.

That sucks. Sennheiser needs to revise that paint.

If I were them, id take the driver housing and attach it to a non plastic headband assembly.

I don't have a stand, and like you, I hadn't gotten around to do so. I remember reading in this thread that those who use headphone stands tend to have less flaking.

yea thought so, which is why i keep mine on top of the packing foam because i know of the flaking issue with the HD650. mine thankfully is still in good condition

I never used a stand. I mostly stored mine in their box.

What's up with you? Are you trolling? If you are, well. Nice one. If you are serious, you got some real problem. This is headfi, where people care about the music. If you think beats and Skullcandy sound better than a hd650, take my advice, go get your ears checked! Or maybe your brain...
