Mine was the opposite. You have to go over $500 to use it. Wish i had one like yours. Wlda used it for the k167 i just ordered for my father for xmas.

Should I get an amp first and use it through uDAC2-HP (headphone out only), or toss the uDAC2-HP, get a new DAC (like the hifidiyme sabre) and then take my time with finding an amp?

So excited, I hope this is the end all pair for me.

Udac2 will liven up the sound a bit, but it has a noticeable uppermid coloration. Some will like it some not

Just Picked up a Second Pair of HD650's for use on the Computer, Really amazed at how well my Asus Sound card powers them, It will do 600Omh's But their too loud even at 25%, Loving my HD650's all over again.

I had my HD-650 less than a week, today I use it to listen to a live music performance that I have listen for years. When I was enjoying the music I suddenly heard mild Nokia phone tone ringing in the background and the strange thing was there is no Nokia phone in the house. I then realized it was from the music track I was listening to, some audience in the live performance phone ringing. I replay the track again and true it was there, I never heard this before that shows how micro detail the HD-650 can really be. I think that is really a cool story

I think sometimes the timbre of certain sounds and effects can be so natural sounding that for a moment your brain is confused and thinks the sound must be coming from another place .
