Yes I do wear glasses but when I listen I'm also doing stuff on the computer so taking them off isn't an option. I'm not sure why this happens only with those who use glasses. All the other headphones I had tried does not have this outside of the HD600 and HD650.

Ah, yes. I wear glasses all the time and my HD650's ear pads always squeak whenever I am wearing glasses. Quite annoying, to say the least.

Still loving my HD650 five months in!  I want to try the HE-500 or LCD-2 v2 but can't bring myself to pull the trigger on them.  It's a big price jump from the HD650 and I can't see them being worth it.  There is nothing I dislike about these cans.  Sure the bass could go a little deeper in Hz but that's about it.
 
They also make my glasses squeak, but usually I'm wearing contacts anyway.

That's what I thought too but ended up trying the HE-500 and just gave my brand new HD650's to a friend. I won't miss them though, the HE-500 is clearly superior in my opinion.

Any chance you would consider taking some diffmaker measurements as part of your review. You would just need to rig up a simple cable adapter with a minijack on one end and four clips on the other to attach to the pins on the Sennheiser jacks

My glasses are thin titanium type and I have to problem at all with HD650, not a single squeeke!

Currently I'm rocking out with a HD-25-II hooked up to a FiiO E10 and obviously want something for purely home listening with some actual soundstage. The first thing that came in mind was the (in)famous HD650. Whilst these are wonderful on a higher end system I wonder how they would do on an E10? Surely I plan to upgrade in a few months to a more respectable setup so I was thinking if the E10 will adequately drive them. Volume wise I keep my HD25-II driven on low gain around 2.
 
Any comments?

I don't have these yet, and I've never had an E10, but looking at specs and what not I don't see why they wouldn't drive these to at least an acceptable level. Hopefully someone else can chime in with some actual experience though.

in my personal experience, the e10 is ok for the hd25-1 iis but i really dont like it for the hd650s.
 
the e10 is pretty dark, and it kills all clarity for me using the 650s. the warm headphones and dark amp section (plus lack of power) makes for a not amazing experience imo.
for a cheap little amp, the O2 is actually pretty great for the 650s. After using it with the 650s, i cant imagine ever using the e10 again.

HD 580 were the flagship in 1993, then 580 jubilee in 1995 were limited run, then HD 600 were the same as jubilee but different color in 1996, then released in 2003 HD 650 which were improved on that base with design and tuning gathered from scientists (form of the internal ear and its resonnance) and also from feedbacks of prototypes lent to audiophiles, journalists, reviewers, and forumers, creating the best headphones on earth (based on the design of the uber expensive Orpheus!)
HD 650 is so good it puts to shame many higher end 1000$ cans for rich people who know better!

Although I do like what I hear out of the HD650 it has some tough competition. I have 2 pair of Magnums, a modified T50RP and my HE500 is returning to me tomorrow.
 
I think my V200 is a good pairing with the HD650 since I'm too lazy to switch out my tube on my CTH and my PPAv2 probably won't ever get used again. Too bad I don't have a HD600 to compare A/B but it does have the warmth that the HD600 did but other than that I don't remember that much in terms of specifics of the HD600. The bass extension isn't that good unfortunately as it doesn't go as low as my other headphones. It's a safe headphone in that the treble isn't offensive and overall pretty laid back.
 
It does have some amping requirements but not anything out of the ordinary these days with the gaining popularity of orthos.

Yesterday I went to the dealer's shop intending to buy a pair of hd650, because I could no longer keep myself from owning it after some listening 2 weeks ago.
But strange things happened, when I listened to it again before actual buying, the warmth, fidelity and distinction of hd650 was no more obvious. 
Perhaps I've adapted to my hd558 after 2 weeks or there's some effect of burn-in? I don't know.
Anyway, I'm released, my desire of owning a better can is temporarily gone. Before the day HD700 becomes available in the shop, I should be satisfied with my hd558. 
 
BTW, I also tried HD800 yesterday, really a great can! But I think it's too luxury for a non professional user like me. I also found myself liking hd600's sound better than hd650.
