Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread

Found my 6xx to be totally dull and boring. That was before i listened to YouTube reviewer Metal 571 who is a huge fan of the 600 series. He strongly recommended a pad change very often with sennheisers pads only. He said sound degrades very quickly.
I changed my somewhat worn 6xx pads and the sound improvement is not to be believed. The fidelity came back in spades! Love the Rebel amp pairing with the 6xx now.

Hd 650 with a Feliks euphoria hype is real 🔥😮‍💨

HD650 with Ultimate is more real and I've owned Euforia for 2 years.

Strange how my journey with tube amps started with this tiny fish. Might I add that HD650 and HD800 sounded great with it.

A true gateway drug

I have been using the zmf pads for a few days. I find they get rather hot and uncomfortable after about an hour. I think the headphones are a bit tight on my head. Any way of loosening them a bit. My fostex t60 cans with larger pads re much more comfortable.

I remember when I first bought my HD650 years ago, I use to put them over a shoe box when not using it to stretch it. This goes on for several months. Then one day, it felt good. :)

That is usually a mistake. You're not really stretching the headband but rather compressing the earpads which is not desirable. The best way to reduce the clamp remains the same. Extend the cups fully and gently bend the metal band on each size. Test and repeat until you get it to fit your head. I've done this on at least a dozen pair of Senns.

Good advice. Thanks.
