Introducing yet another SW-HD6xx variation SilverWolf HD6xx EXTR with microfiber pad.... I have no idea lol...my custom/modded treated HD6xx,...meh they look like this..lol.
I've been using the plastic ring from the ZMF Suede pads with Yaxi pads for the Sony MDR M1ST. It's fits them perfectly and adds a bit more immediacy to the sound. I can't get enough of this setup - the EqualsYax50s peaces haha
I just received a new set of HD 600 from Full Compass.
Made in Romania.
They are freaking amazing with my hot rodded BH Crack/SB. Much better than the HD-650 and 6XX I've had the over the past 5 years. The 650 was made in Ireland and the 6XX in Romania. I was a little surprised they were that much better. Very happy with the particular set I received.
I was never overly happy with the 6XX and the new HD 600 just creams it in detail and overall clarity. Wonderfully balanced! I wonder if the 6XX was just a dud and I didn't realize it or just normal and much more veiled and blocking details???

One of the HD6XX I bought ways ago was half-dud, it sounded off. I say half, because as it turned out the pads were bad (brand new from Drop!). A new set of pads from Sennheiser fixed the problem and they sounded as great as they shouldI was never overly happy with the 6XX and the new HD 600 just creams it in detail and overall clarity. That happens (rarely) with headphones...
The first HD660 I purchased was 'muffled'. That said, it was from Amazon Warehouse so was probably a return (which I returned). My second HD660, doesn't have any issues and I really enjoy it!
My HD6XX sounds (from memory) the same as my original HD650s (which I sold )...would be very disappointed if they didn't
Am thinking you just like the HD600 sound signature better -- great for you that you 'found' them and like them so much!
Thanks you! I have had the:
HD-800 V1 (piercingly bright)
580, 595, 650, and 6XX (too much veil)
700 (better than 800 for me but just didn't take to them, just like the 800)
I had a 600 prior this new 600 and gave that to a friend interested in getting into headphones. And it was a good one.
This particular set I just received is THE best Sennheiser headphone I've ever used. Just matches my ears perfectly. Amazing balance, nothing is lacking or overdone. It is an incredible match for my modified BH Crack/SB with a 2399 power tube and 12BH7A driver tube.

My Custom Cans mod is in and I'm enjoying what it has brought to the 650~ I opted to use the hollow foams and am really enjoying the tighter, more powerful bass hits. Might be my imagination but I don't hear the veil as much now too.

I thought the V-word was illegal to use in this thread because it causes huge food fights.

connecting the xduoo ta-20 and the hd650 in balanced is a great feel, warm and detailed sound, does anyone have this setup?
My HD650 seem to really shine even with the portable xDuoo Link2 BAL. I even prefer the dongle over some of my full size gear!
