The E12 can drive it more than fine, but I prefer the Cayin C5 with the 650. Same price range imho and a glorious combo.

However, the E12 is no slouch and you can surely enjoy the 650's with it, if your budget is fixed it's a great choice.

I have got the C5 and the E12 and they both make quite a good pairing with my HD650s, especially for the price.

I doubt I'll use either of them with the HD650 that much though because they are portable amps and the HD650 is a headphone that is only really usable at home, but it is nice to have the option.

I can get decent sound with a Fiio X3ii and HE-650 but its not something that I would ever do since as others have noted the HD-650 is not quite what I would consider a portable headphone but its just me and my GF does use a HD-700 with a Fiio X3 when she is out walking our dog so anything is possible.

If you are willing to go just tad bigger/heavier, the FiiO E10K is no slouch in the amp department. I had a FiiO E10, the immediate predecessor to the E10K, and it was able to drive my new HD650s without an issue, and the E10K is even more "powerful" from the improvements they made

i just like to know how can I power this amp if it doesnt have a built in Battery?

I have the Cayin C5 and a few other amps, from the Bottlehead Crack with Speedball upgrade, Liquid Carbon and a Burson Conductor etc. I don't think the Cayin C5 is that bad at all. The opposite, for around $100 I don't think you can find a better pairing, if you are on the budget. Of course the bigger amps drive it better but the question here was specifically a budget version. And I enjoy the 650 with the C5 an awful lot. So it's clearly my budget recommendation.

For a $100 budget, Vali all the way. Will beat the pants off of any pairing by Fiio or jds labs.

My Fiio E12 did a pretty respectable job of driving my HD 650's. Not to the level of my Ember MkII but damn good considering the price.
