first it would be nice to test with actual music instead of bad kanye on utube. even more so when the guy uses so many old crappy samples in his songs with vinyl crackling noise and so on.
it's not a test it's a proof that there is no need for quality audio on those stuff(and I'm saying that when I actually enjoy kanye... well on his old albums, late registration and stuff).
 
else if you notice the noise only in one ear, it could be a hair touching the driver(remove the pad and little foam filter, check that no hair is stuck in it, and eventually gently blow some air on the driver. if it's still there, then it may be a damaged driver.

Sometimes hair can work it's way through the ear cup and come to rest poking the driver slightly. It's usually not noticable but at certain sound levels and frequencies it can cause crackling sounds and pops, similar to poking a grocery bag with a short thick piece of hair.

i guess if it's there on purpose it gives it a retro or vintage feel to it.
