I first have to get myself a balanced amp....I have the dac in place....probably about Christmas time before I can make it happen.....just getting my research done.

Try to get a source with AES/EBU digital output. Then pair that with bal DAC out and your amp, and you are set for good.

Agreed. They were very impressive when I auditioned them. If I wanted closed phones around/under $300 I'd probably buy these.

If you aren't able to tell any difference between Beats and Momentum, it might be a good idea to consider the new AKG Y50 for mobile use. They are a lot cheaper and I enjoy them a great deal.

Unless you are really extrovert, I'd suggest a black one though.

Good choice! I listened to them for 1 hr at my dealer. Didn't buy them, though. No particular reason. But I really liked its musicality.

OK let's talk about the 650.
 
Does anyone know whether Senn has any plans for an "updated" version of the venerable 650? Many other brands have "updated" their versions of flagship cans. I know, the 650 isn't Senn's f'ship, but it is probably their most popular model if ratings are to be believed.  Maybe an HD675? Some model not quite as high up as the 800s but still within SQ of the 650 and its price.
