Thanks for all of the replies

I first have to get myself a balanced amp....I have the dac in place....probably about Christmas time before I can make it happen.....just getting my research done.

Thanks again for all of the suggestions.

Try to get a source with AES/EBU digital output. Then pair that with bal DAC out and your amp, and you are set for good.

Good luck,

i have a balanced dac and will be working on getting a balanced tube amp next.

When I was looking for portable headphones I tried the Momentums (both versions) and wasn't impressed at all. I ended up buying the V-Moda M-100 and couldn't be happier.

Good choice! I listened to them for 1 hr at my dealer. Didn't buy them, though. No particular reason. But I really liked its musicality.

OK let's talk about the 650.

Does anyone know whether Senn has any plans for an "updated" version of the venerable 650? Many other brands have "updated" their versions of flagship cans. I know, the 650 isn't Senn's f'ship, but it is probably their most popular model if ratings are to be believed.  Maybe an HD675? Some model not quite as high up as the 800s but still within SQ of the 650 and its price.
