Do you guys have any recommendations for balanced cables for these? Something  <$100

How much are the new Sennheiser cables?  I thought I read on the cover page here, that they would be reasonable...

Yep, $13 new 650 cable and a $5 Neutrik 4 pin is a good deal, and considerably less than what Headroom wants for the same thing.

The new Senn cables are not cheap.  $240 for the 650.

It can be had for $13? I'm seeing $18-25 before shipping most places.

Ah ha, of course I didn't check direct with Senn. Thanks! I'll be ordering one to mate with my Neutrik 4-pin plug.

If you're not amping them with 100W RMS per channel and a vintage Marantz, you should return them.  Oh wait, this isn't the HE-500s thread?  My bad

But... how are you amping them?  Also, what StanD said.

Currently only a Fiio e11.... :/ but im buying either a ef2a, littledot, or magni. These would work w the hd650 correct?

The Magni is a very interesting design, it should be able to cause pain with your HD650 and even drive many low impedance Orthos (Planar Mags) like my HE-500. I can't believe that the price is so reasonable.

I have the Magni & Little Dot MKIII...both work beautifully with the 650's.  I prefer the MKIII with them over the Magni though...mainly due to the 'tube' sound.  Can't go wrong with either amp though and both will power the HD650's with more than enough power.

If one day Calvin gets a set of low impedance cans, the Little Dot might not be able to drive them as at 32 Ohms it can only crank out 100 mW.

I thought he asked if the little dot or magni would work with the HD650's...I didn't see anything about 32 ohm headphones in his question.  When I got my first pair of DT880's they were the 32 ohm version.  I thought my little dot powered them just fine.  I later sold them and got the 600 ohm version. Either way the LD works great with the 650's.

How is the 650 paired with Lyr vs Bottlehead Crack vs Valhalla? I like my amps to be a bit more on the neutral/bright side to offset the warmth of 650 like the Magni. I did not particularly like the Vali due to it making the 650 even more warm and almost suffocating.

there are some gain switches under the belly of the Littledot...i had the d2000 then, works fine.

I was providing information that he should be aware of as to make an informed choice. It may not power all 32 Ohm cans, that depends on their sensitivity. I don't think it'll handle my HE-500's. I have an HD600 and it would do fine with that, however, I wouldn't be interested as I would want something that can power both.
The Little Dot MKIII that was mentioned can only dish out 100 mW at 32 Ohms.
