Buy an S-hook.

I was going to suggest a Sky Hook, but thought better of it

Guys,

what would you buy as amp and dac for HD650 under 400$? I was thinking about AGD NFB-11.32 or Compass 2 with Sabre. Crack OTL looks good, too, but I don't want to build it myself.

It can be Schiit, O2, ... whatever, just want the best sound for my buck.

Thank's for help!

I used this setup when I was out of town last week. I thought that it was just okay. If I spent more time on the road I'd probably want something a bit more dynamic.

*coughs - HiFi-M8*.......

This thing is impressing me more and more with the HD650.  I really want to do a head to head against the Crack.

I have found a deal on a pair of used (most probably older version) HD650. I mostly listen to Jazz (piano trios and female voices) and some classic rock. Should I proceed with the buy? Has anyone experimented with non-Sennheiser earpads? Any suggestions (I will have to replace those). Many thanks!

Any good stands that will sufficiently keep my HD650s safe and wont break my wallet more than it's already broken?

You can get a simple hook at Walmart/Home depot that will suffice. And BHPhoto has the Senn clip stand for $13.50. I snagged one when I got a new set of pads.

AFAIK...the consensus is that the stock pads are about as good as it gets for comfort and maintaining the sound signature. The he60 pads will fit but alter the signature and not in a good way IMO.

Thanks! I have seen some cheaper (~50% off) at ebay. Has anyone tried them?

I've been going through a number of threads comparing the HD600 to the HD650. Is it fair to say that in terms of SQ the HD600 being a more neutral pair of headphones is liked better than the HD650 by slightly more people on Head Fi even though it is cheaper?

Edited: typo HD650 to HD600

I think that you mean 600 to 650. And one is not favored over the other by most here. They are equally regarding depending on your personal preference.

From what I read re: the HD 650 vs. the HD 600 that seems about right.  Still, I got the HD 650, cuz I like bucking the trend
