If you want to truly appreciate the sound quality of the 650, or any good hp, try taking a week or two off from listening to them. Put them on and be prepared to be stunned at just how good they are.

I'd like to add: Once you have a nice headphone setup and feel the urge to spend more on something "better", invite a friend or relative who isn't an audiophile to have a listen to their favorite music through your rig. Their response usually brings you back to reality (how good it is already) and that can help put your wallet away. :)

I have the HD650 but I'm so curious about the sound of the HD600. The only thing preventing me from at least "borrowing" one from amazon to test it out is that I can never imagine myself owning something that ugly... vs HD650's great curves and looks

I decided to buy both and end my search. Both are great all arounders. 600's when I need more space and treble for classical and instrumental pieces. 650's for just about everything else. Schiit stack is running both.

Thought the soundstage of the 650 is larger than the 600 and the treble is supposedly better as well. I love the 650, especially playing coldplay, but would definitely like more speed and less "laidbackness" for electronic music. I am however satisfied with my 650 enough that I don't think I need another headphone until I can afford the 800. Maybe also get a BH crack from my Vali.

Though similar, they both do one thing better than the other.

Hi there, I got the 650 on black Friday and I´ve been using them with the Dragonfly from Audioquest, I really like the sound coming from the HD650 I also know that I can get more if I feed them with something better, hence my questions: Has anyone the HD650 and the Yulong D100 MKII Amp/DAC Combo?? How are they together?? What can I expect (sound-wise)? I like the idea of getting the Yulong due to the ability of driving high impedance and low impedance cans (I want to get them like an all-rounder)
Thanks in advance

I agree as well. I rotate between the DT 990 Pros, ATH-M50's, and the HD650's. Every time I listen to them the more I appreciate them.

I've heard at least a dozen amps with the 650's including the Yulong. If you want to keep the 650 long term, and I suggest that you do, there is one amp that will bring them to sound their most exquisite IMO. It's the BHC...look no further.

Are you preferring the BHC over the Lyr by a wide margin, or is it close? I read you're going to review the Lyr vs. Crack, so maybe I should wait. With the right tubes, does the Lyr outperform the Crack? Thanks for any insight.
