At the risk of jinxing myself, I'll go ahead and say it...."The hd650 is one hp that I will never sell."

I'll join you in that boat. The HD 650 is one of the greatest headphones ever made. I would never consider selling it.

This headphone has too much character to sell.  I can't see myself ever not enjoying it no matter what else I own...

Haha I'd never want to risk selling mine and then having the next pair not sound as good.

First two several years ago I didn't like much. This one is perfect. Don't know what changed at all. None of my gear did.

I did once get a pair at J&R that sounded similar to this but I had to return it due to paint chipping.

OK, I like my modded Q701 more but I'm going to be set with that, my DJ100 and HD-650 for a long time. FYI I think the 650 is better than the K702 "Annie" though.

HD-650 is what I use for movies and gaming. I know you'll hate to hear this but it sounds better with weak sources than my Q701.

Funny how my two favorite headphones are ones I spent so much money on to get to sound perfect.

At one point in time I actually preferred the 598 and HD-600 to the old 650s I had. Hard to believe.

598 does a few things better than the HD-650 but it's not really the better headphone.

Makes no sense how the 580 I had is closer to the HD-650 than the HD-600.

I think I must be the only person to like the HD-580 but not so much the HD-600.

Count me in that as well.  I just picked up an HE-500 and I'm really enjoying it, but the HD650 has a permanent place in my collection.

hahaha me too! Picked up the HE-500 over the summer, but the HD650 still gets some headtime once in a while =P Now if I jumped to the LCD-2.... ..... I'd still want to TRY and keep the HD650 hahaha.

I've had my 650s for a while, and also recently picked up a HE500. Right now, believe it or not, the 650s are winning - but to be fair, they're being powered by a Bottlehead Crack while the HE500s are out of an old Marantz.

Hopefully I can get a proper amp built for the HE500s for a fair comparison... but while the 650s may not be the new sexiness, they unquestionably deserve a place in the all-time hall of fame.

I'll never sell my HD650s. The romantic relaxed and utterly gorgeous sound will never be replaced for me. I've had my model for 5.5 years now going strong.

haha yeah you need a proper amp for the HE500 to shine, I'm running mine off a Uberfrost/Lyr. My Crack+Speedball should be coming in soon... we'll see how that fairs =P
