What's the ULTIMATE end-game amp for 600/650? Cost no-limit.....

Zana Deux? GS-X Mk2? Liquid Carbon?
Opinions will vary on this subject, I'd consider the apex Teton or pinnacle to be the coup de grace.5 & 10k respectively

I do think Eddie Current stuff in general would be end game for most, and I'd love a Zana Deux Super myself and call it done.  But maybe also consider the Violectric V281, or the Cavalli Liquid Gold on the solid state end of things...

And don't forget your end game DAC.

But I do love my Liquid Carbon. I just don't consider it "elite"; just very good for the $599 I paid for it...

Yggy+ZDS and never worry about upgrading again.

Probably my dream rig.
Yes, I've got the bw2 & it's freakin' amazing with the 650's. I can only imagine what that combo sounds like. If I can sell my 560's & audio Gd amp Zana Deux might be next.

Is anyone able to compare the upper mids and lower treble of the 650 to the lcd2, hd700, campfire Andromeda or 64 audio u8? Thinking of getting this to replace my lcd2 (heavy) and wondering if I will find the upper mids recessed in comparision (as some describe the 650 as velied) .

Some people are deaf, or, most likely, used to the hyper-inflated treble that many see as increased detail. Those people are wrong.

Have owned 650 and LCD-2.2.
Get the 650 -- more ergonomic and with a great amp.....what veil?
LCD-2.2 felt like a brick wall on my head.

Plus the troubling driver/build issues with LCDs....

Ya, not looking for any statements like this. Just looking to get a sense of what people mean by the 650 as veiled. I find, for example, the u8 upper mids make it sound veiled to me.

Gotta sell the lcd2 first lol. Only have an m&m stack for now. You guys figure that will be ok for temp use on the 650?

Ya, tough! You asked a question & got an answer. Whether you like it or not is your problem. The original HD 650 was 'veiled' but that was a LONG time ago. The issue has been addressed ad nauseum.

What's an "m&m stack"?
