I found the padding, it doesn't fit on the HD-650 since the headband of the HD-650 is too thick

@Beztis, that's the one I have but it will not fit, might have to remove the existing head cushion but it will be a very tight fit.  After feeling the existing padding on the HD-650 and the wrap on one they are about the same but the plastic of the wrap around one gets hot after a while for me.

@Bob A (SD), nice find, did you get around to building one or did you get someone to build one for you?

No unfortunately.  No one responded.  I'm a retiree very close to becoming a sexagenerian.  Due to circumstances / conditions I won't go into here, such a basic DIY project is beyond my capabilities.  Once I spotted the mod I thought nicely padded soft glove leather pads would be great for both my HD600 and HD580 which is why I made that post in the wanted subforum and the mod thread.

If I ever get around to getting the parts to build one would you still be interested in buying 2?  I was looking at the plastic and the only way is to buy a sheet which is 2' x 4' here in Hawaii so I'll have a lot of extra and I only need to make 2.  The leather is quite pricy for the nice thin sheets that are easier to work with and give better results, but I'm still looking.

Keep me posted!   And you might be suprised and find a few others willing to go in which would reduce the cost of raw materials overall.  I'd looked on ebay for the leather a couple months ago.  Of course that is if you're willing to make a good number.  Consider posting in the for sale area to gauge interest.

It does fit. It is tight but it goes. Grab the bottom half of the popper with your finger and the top half with your thumb and squeeze them together. The material stretches and once you get all the poppers done up, it all evens up and is on solid.

Mine looks exactly like that pic. It's a tight fit but it does go. I'd rather have it tight than loose as well.
