Hi

First post so hi everyone.

I am a vinyl DJ (1210's) playing oldskool house music and I purchased my Sennheiser hd25's back in 1995 and they have been brilliant but are coming to the end of their days - I've had my monies worth!

So I'm looking for a replacement and of course my immediate thought was I'll go for the same again.

But straight away it looks like there were various models which have been consolidated into a new single model for 2016.

I'm no expert on headphones- after all I've not had to buy a pair for a good few years! Should I just buy the latest 2016 version or pick one of the earlier versions.

Or....should I be looking at something else.

I'm a "bedroom" DJ so they stay in the one place and are only used connected to my xone mixer.

Thanks for any help

Hello! If those headphones lasted over 20 years, that's something to bear in mind!

There are plenty of 'DJ' headphones out there but a lot of them get that name for marketing purposes, rather than being particularly useful for DJs. Watch out for that.

Take a look a the new Fostex T-40RP (mk.3) which was released a few months ago, these are designed for use with studio gear and are really very good for the price -

We still have the Amperior here, although Sennheiser has stopped those it seems.

However the HD25 is still going strong - it's still listed on Sennheiser's sites for instance -
