Hello friends!

I am absolutely new to this forum as well as to branded head phones. I want to buy a headphone that gives good output and doesn't put a hole in my pocket. As under normal condition, my budget is about Indian Rs.2000 ($40) but I can go a little further if I get some thing really worth.

I checked a few and found good reviews for Sennheiser HD 202 & PX 100. Although I am not asking you to choose one from the above two only, getting other brands is a bit difficult here in India.

A few that I sorted out are:
Sennheiser HD 202 : Rs.1400/-
Sennheiser HD 437 : Rs.1700/-
Sennheiser EH 150 : Rs.2200/-
Sennheiser PX 100 : Rs.2250/-
Sennheiser PX 80 : Rs.1700/-

Now tell me guys, which is the one that I should go for?

Thank you.

I use a FM converter in my TV so that I can use my earphones with my mobile FM player. This enables me to sit comfortable in my bed and watch the movie without the hassle of long wires. Does converting the sound into FM degrades the sound quality.

Add a little more $ and rock your ears with the Grado SR60.

I have the PX-80 for the past 4 months. They are my first ever branded headphones too.

I do not think you'll have any reason to be disappointed. Just go ahead and buy them (or PX-100, if you can)

If you want to save a few bucks, go for PX-80. You won't be disappointed.

Since it's only 550 more, I say go for PX-100-I (do not think it's the newer PX-100-II?). Though I have not tried it myself, you cannot go wrong with either.

Do not wait too much. Take the plunge

HD202's are great for their American price but they really need an amp to be great great. (i have some and they are fun but can't compare to any of my others). If I were you, I would totally grab the koss portapros if you don't mind their style. Waybetter bang for the buck and lifetime warranty can't be beat.

I'm in Kolkata, btw, where are you?

Also btw, sennheisers are overpriced in India. I just got a pair of RS130's (awesome by the way) they wanted Rs. 14,000 for them last year and I just bought them in the USA for $60 (i.e. more than $200 less).

Get the Koss from a company that will ship to India via speed post. (don't used DHL or any other courier, use any kind of trackable postal mail)

But subtract your love for Grado, fanboy.

But on a real note, you could get a used Grado SR60 for about ~$50 USD.

Otherwise, PX100.
