Too pricey for me, but Very sexy looking!Fog City Audio. These are what I use .... These are made with Cardas copper, length of 6ft, below $300 USD. They are also available with Mogami copper for less money.
SRH1540 is beautiful with the Sony NW-WM1Z. The HD660S2's are phenomenal with Lotoo Paw Gold Touch. I have to keep them both. Now retiring the SRH1540 for good?
Amazon now has refurbished 660S2's for $299.

You're right, sorry. Looks like Amazon UK is now showing me the pre VAT price of £357.50 as I'm logged in but in Canada, this is new. The VAT used to be included until I got to the check out. Damn and here I had things in my wish list thinking I'm getting another 20% off the price shown. : (That link shows £429
I agree. I find that the HD660S2 is the first Senn headphone that I ever loved. I did the pad removal also. The HD660S2 seems to have just the right amount of bass. I really enjoy the lively, even midrange/treble response. Nothing seems like it's missing. I enjoy the Meze 109 Pro's bass on some songs, but the mids are a tad too recessed. I see myself reaching most for Sennheiser HD660S2 or Shure SRH1540 most depending on the DAP I am using.
The Shure SRH1540 headphones are only special out of my Sony NW-WM1Z, balanced. It's a crazy good combination, just like Lotoo Paw Gold Touch and Sennheiser HD660S2 is a great combination. The Shures are so-so from other DAPs. I really believe in the synergy concept now. The Sennheiser HD660S2 headphones sound like garbage out of my Sony.I agree. I owned the 1540's a few years and found that while they were nice, they not special enough to keep.
I also own the 109 Pro's, but am trying to sell them. For me, I find the bass lacking, the mids Amazing and the treble just weird.
Glad you're enjoying the S2's!
I kept Lotoo Paw Gold Touch. I am glad that I did. Sennheiser HD660S2 headphones pair beautifully.Sony, Shure, and LQI Cables are my big three brands. I am selling my Lotoo Paw Gold Touch. My Audio-Technica ATH-MSR7B headphones are decent too. I am giving Sennheiser a try soon.
I find the S2 quite picky in terms of system synergy personally. There are some systems I dislike them on and others I like them on, haven’t quite found the right synergy for them yet though.I kept Lotoo Paw Gold Touch. I am glad that I did. Sennheiser HD660S2 headphones pair beautifully.
There are so many headphones that way.I find the S2 quite picky in terms of system synergy personally. There are some systems I dislike them on and others I like them on, haven’t quite found the right synergy for them yet though.
Very true, just find these a bit pickier than the norm. I don’t have the biggest variety of amps and dacs to experiment with. I’ve been able to get the HD 650, HD 660S, R70X, T1.3, etc. happy without too much trouble. Interestingly enough the HD 660S2 and HD 600 have been a bit more troublesome than normal. The HD 600 with its rough lower treble and the HD 660S2 with its bass (bothersome pressure on some systems to me) and upper mids (too recessed on some setups). There are so many headphones that way.
I guess I am lucky, but my two favourite headphones (HD660S2's and Focal Clear's) work well with my amps (Violectric V220, iFi Pro iCAN and Valhalla 2).I find the S2 quite picky in terms of system synergy personally. There are some systems I dislike them on and others I like them on, haven’t quite found the right synergy for them yet though.
