Just ordered mine and I am terribly excited! The only "real" 'phones I've owned have mainly been AKG's (K240DF, K280, Sextetts, K550) so I am looking forward to giving some Sennheisers a try.

Friday can't come soon enough...

Seriously... frequency response from <0.000001Hz to several MHz? Even expert graph readers can't hear above 70khz or below 1hz

It basically means that the amplifier is fully DC coupled, and has no RF filtering. Which are not necessarily good things, because DC blocking can protect the headphones if the source outputs a high DC level for some reason, and filtering out inaudible high frequency content can make the amplifier less susceptible to interference problems.

Congrats. I've had my AKG Sextetts since new in the late 70s and the 600s were a very nice upgrade.  I hope you like them.  Together with my Bifrost Uber and Lyr they stunning to my ears!

The AKG K 241 (Sextett variant from the late '70s) and Senn HD 600 have very similar decay patterns - practically identical, the difference being some treble ringing on the K 241. In other words, the two drivers are almost identical in how quickly they settle down.

Thanks! I've heard good things about the Lyr and have been wanting to try a tube amp, perhaps I will check it out if I am not able to drive the HD600 to my satisfaction (I currently have my MBox 3 Pro running S/PDIF to a HeadPod 4. Lots of power but maybe not enough finesse).

Does anyone have any new or decent shape grills they may be willing to part with? I may buy your upgraded cables if you have some too. Thank you.

I fixed the faded paint on my grilles with an oil-based paint Sharpie and unless you're looking really carefully they look brand new. On close inspection the Sharpie paint is a little shinier than the original finish though.

I think the R&D alone into that machine single handedly bankrupted the Greek economy.. It's the epitome of an amp. Worth it!

Heh, thank you for the idea but I first need grills before I can sharpie them.
