Woo WA3 - ‘tubed’ with Cetron 7236, pair Tungsram ECC81 on Pulse Tube Store adapters - provides ‘muscular’ sound with the finesse of an Impressionist master. All the soundstaging that one could want. Great for HD-600. Kudos, also, to Custom Cans (U.K.) headphone cable.

Do you have a link where I can purchase those cables? I'm located in the US and want to check if they're available for shipping here.
I'm just beginning to dive into this hobby. I've experimented with various Sennheiser headphones and have now chosen the HD600 paired with the iFi Hip Dac v2, which offers a balanced output. I did buy a budget-friendly Youkamoo 4.4mm balanced cable. While I observed a boost in volume, I didn't find a noticeable improvement in sound quality.
By the way, has anyone else found it challenging to detach the stock cables from the headphones? The grip area is minimal, and I find myself having to carefully use my nails to pinch and extract them. Thankfully, I removed them without causing any damage, but it was a bit of a struggle.
Have you got the cables inserted in the right holes? I bought my hd600's used, and previous owner had the cables wrong way round & they were super tight to remove.
fyi the "L" and "R" markings on the connectors should face outwards.

Yes, the cables are in the correct holes. When they arrived new, they were positioned this way. The right side is indicated with a red color and the "R" facing outward, corresponding with the headphone labeled "R". I brought it up only because the area available for gripping is so minimal.
In the vast expanse of cosmic audio waves, my thumb, much like a shirtless old man in khaki blue shorts yanking relentlessly on a lawnmower cord, searches for its purpose. Perhaps its destiny is not in connecting cables but in transcending realms as a hand model? Time will unravel the mysteries of these cables, just as the universe reveals its secrets. Your insights have added another dimension to my journey. Gratitude and wonder.

He's the greatest hand model according to the folks that would know in the Seinfeld episode "The Puffy Shirt", and the actual spelling is "Ray McKigney"
