I am little confused about La-Figaro ond Darkvoice which one is better?

So in general from the amps mentioned, the balanced output provides an improvement over the trrs jack. Just wanted to confirm. As I plan to buy these cans when I get my Geek PulseX

I spoke directly to several Sennhiser factory guys at the Axpona show last month, both guys gave the thumbs up to balanced sound over the 1/4 jack. Now remember the HD600 does not come with a balanced cable. It would be great if several people in ths thread would reveal what balanced cable they're using.

They probably sound the same. The story goes the engineer who designed the Darkvoice left the company and started La Figaro. His 336c supposedly has some upgraded parts and/or signal path. Interestingly, he doesn't make the 336c any more. The darkvoice 336se can still be bought (got mine from Schenzen via Amazon), but that doesn't mean they're still making it either... Could just be old stock. Before buying you should do some searches at this website. There's a ton of info.

I bought an used crack kit which is broken. Repair part costs 100$+  according to Doc.

Ok what I meant is I am not sure did it improve on balanced output, but I don't really care anymore because it is sounding so good to me at this moment. I.e. I did not bother testing between single/balanced or cable or another DAC or amp or whatever.

Also, TRRS can be used to provide a mic or balanced audio depending on the manufacturing, and NO your HD600 came only with a TRS jack. TRS jacks have 2 black strips while TRRS has 3

Thanks for the correction! Yes, I meant regular 1/4" TRS. Since this last post, have you tried comparing the SE end vs the balanced?

What cables are you using for both?

I have the dx50 as my dap and Im thinking of buying an amp. Can someone give their opinion regarding the difference in sq of the synergy between hd600+dx50+ O2 and jds labs c5. Portability is not an issue for me. I am just really curious about the difference in sq of the two amps when paired with my hp and dap. Thanks!

I had X3 DAP+ O2 + HD600 at a point of time.
 
I can say that, when I bring O2 amp into picture, soundstage + Imaging + details + clarity  increases
 
Directly out of X3, Even though it has good amount of power in high gain, I was not happy with this setup as it sounded  narrow and congested. C5 is said to be similar to O2 in sound signature, but its output power is lesser compared to O2 amp.
