Yup, don't be a sheeple :)
Yes but by resisting potentially more accurate ways of listening/judging its hard to learn and grow.

Flexibility I find is superior to standing pat out of principle.

Nothing personal, just another view.

Your post isn't taken personally at all. We are here to share our views. I even check in on that site that posts measurements and I'm happy that people enjoy it. I'm just not going to buy a piece of equipment based on measurements alone. I prefer to read reviews posted by owners of equipment and listen for myself when possible. I posted earlier that one of the DACs that I own and use is the Schiit Modi Multibit that measures poorly but I think sounds great. I appreciate your post and your view on the subject. I used to read Stereo Review magazine 50 years ago and it had its share of measurements in the articles published reviewing equipment.

The Topping L30 is pretty much the pinnacle of bang for your buck according to his measurements. Most people (apart from the ASR crowd who don’t know or have any subjective conclusion) said the highs are a shrill mess.

If that’s what you want, go ahead and trust the measurements and destroy your ears.
I had a Topping D50s that I sold after a few weeks. It didn't have the synergy with my system.

Well,......... how do they sound? Did the coating blew you away out the roof of your house?
The coating is just for sexy looks, as the presentation video says. The sonic characteristics are exactly the same as those of pure copper. Just different color.
EDIT: I understand the sarcasm in your question, but the audiophile world is full of so many ridiculous myths that some will definitely insist that they hear the difference.

Has anyone tried the Custom Cans UK mod on the HD58X?

Unfortunately, it's not applicable to HD58X because there are no spider cages to attach the copper weights to.
Thank you very much,
I do some research, although I doubt there is a modification validated as Custom Cans UK for the HD58X.

Again, the old audio adage: “if a component measures poorly and sounds great, the wrong thing is being measured.”
Maybe it's me but I have never agreed with this principle.

In the 60's they (High Fideliy) talked about THD and distortion. The Crown IC-150 and 300 had thousandths of a %, and sounded like music played in a concrete cell.

Then the euphonics of TAS.

Then the SID and TIM revolution.

Class A, D, H, balanced, etc.

I've been thru lots of blind AB testing even ABX.

I've heard a lot of live music, lots of equipment. I don't look up or care about stats. Does it fit with my equipment? Does it sound like music? Is there some mod (including EQ) that can improve the sound? Do it.
