Oh, I'm feeling so greedy. I would love to get the HD599, however, I already have HD600/800  Why am I so craving for 599???

I guess I'm the first to think this. They already revamped the 400 series. The 500 series now. Is their 600 series next? Imagine a semi-closed HD650, with pleather pads (both will increase low bass) and a bit more high end detail (but still warm)? The HD675?

Nice looking stuff and lots of choices. Any weight specs for the portable HD4 and HD2 series??

Whether short hop or long haul, the PXC 480 is the perfect travel companion. Featuring NoiseGardTM hybrid active noise cancellation and a truly impressive battery life of up to 50 hours, the headphones provide comfortable, uninterrupted listening for any journey.

This looks promising. I have the PXC450 and it's pretty good, but the angled transducer covers touch my ears and it bugs me on long flights. Hopefully this one is more comfortable.

While I'm very unlikely to get any of these new headphones for myself, I do always have friends looking for open and/or portable cans. Especially with open headphones, there's always something not quite right...
Sennheiser HD598, 558 and 518: the most agreeable overall sounds and comfort levels, but too expensive at local retail
Audio Technica AD_x series: fussy headband, no bass
AKG K612: impossible to drive on on-board / portable sound, splashy mids/highs makes it intolerable for long listening sessions
Beyerdynamic DT880 / DT990: sharp, close to piercing highs
And the list goes on and on and on...
So here's to hoping the HD599 will be more reasonably priced at MSRP than the HD598.
Eh, who am I kidding?

Having purchased the HD598SE relatively recently, I'm more excited with the new 4.x line :)
The 4.20s look like budget Momentums, and I'm very curious about the sound, while the 4.3 can replace my MDR-1A if they will have tighter bass.
Can't wait to hear them both and to see the prices.

When did they revamp the 400 series?  That could be an indication as when we might see the 600 series revamped (400 -> 500 -> 600).

I'm planning on buying a set of HD600's towards the end of this year; wondering now if I should hold-off...

Amazon was selling the HD 598 at a little over $100 on Prime Day this year. Here's hoping they'll do something similar with the HD 599... the value proposition goes through the roof at that price.

I think they mean HD428, 438 etc. ---> HD429, HD439 etc.

That HD569 is a really interesting model. Closed, versatile coming with a mic cable, a good price, and more easily driven being 23 Ohm and 115 SPL.
