I just got the CX300 and it looks awfully a lot like the Apple In-ears I have. I would compare the two but I cant find the them....

I'm curious about something. I recall I read somewhere here that the CX-300's scored 20 points higher than the Creative IEMs, 60 to 40. Is that out of 100? 60's not a very flattering score... then again, considering the calibre of equipment they probably deal with regularly, it's understandable.

When you take off the ear pieces, they look pretty much identical. Apple just has a sleeker shell where the CX300, MD33, and EP-630 has a rounder shell.

I also got the EP-630 ($30+shipping) and after initial impressions, I don't hear any appreciable differences. After some more use with these two, I will have a more conclusive analysis. Also I hope to find my Apple in-ears.....

FWIW,
EP-630: Y-cord with straight plug
CX300: J- cord with L plug

Maddog, I assure you the CX300s are not the same as the Apples. My sister got her hands on some Apple's and those things have a sibilant high end with no bass whatsoever. These Sennheisers have amazing bass, with a very clean mid and high end.

I can't believe how nice these CX300 sound compared to my ER-6.

I picked up a second pair so now my portable DVD player and MP3 player have their own headphones

(too many times I have gotten on the train in the morning to find out I left my headphones on the MP3 player going to bed.

Are you sure you are getting a proper seal? The stock ear pieces will not provide a good fit and seal. I used the ear pieces from my EX71 and the In-ears became vastly superior compared to the EX71.

Hi MadDog, I've the EP630 and apple in-ears. They are very different. EP630's mids are stronger. If the CX300 is the same as a EP630, then they will be different from apple in-ears.

I'm eagerly waiting for your comparison between EP630 and CX300.
