Seiun player, $150 player with monster spec. Too good to be true?

It would appear so for a later date on delivery from a complete production run. Production factory's build to a schedule, design changes, improvements, part availability all affect this process. There is also safety and communication regulations for each country to pass. Plus they are reliant on thier software house Liztic to match hardware changes and have a working product. Don't forget Android is now Marshmallow and needs to be customised.

Don't forget integration with the PHA and docking module via firmware.

I would have loved SEIUN to mention more of the good and bad.

But with all thing's until we have a unit to test it means nothing. Even if you have a live web cam or nothing until it arrives in the post.

The most important is a working bug free unit.
My answer is disappointment is expectation verse reality.
I'd rather be disappointed by waiting a few months. Than get a badly made product now.

Good luck

Dave

Video has been updated on the IDGG page with what looks like a working demo of the Pro X (main video on the story page). Encouraging.

People forget it's a 4k player as well.
Not just a high rez transport.
Apart from debugging software and any potential hardware issues it looks like a done deal. So all the abuse on IDGG has been for nothing and they have come through. Not bad at all considering the time it took and the price at IDGOGO is silly. I will be getting the PROX+ AND the PHA and the dock for $300.
that wouldn't get me a wyred for sound signal cleaner or a custom headphone cable.
+ I helped a company start to become an industry player by supporting them.
I feel like I am robbing them more than helping.

People do need to rethink about crowd funding items maybe wait and save.

All fun though...

Keep smiling

I've never thought that the discussion was about price or features.

The Pro Players are very cheap for all they promise to do.

The real problem, the source of all the toxic and negative discussion, is the almost lack of communication since the main campaign was over.

If they were not ready to deal with funders, maybe they were not ready for crowdfunding.

We're getting closer to the estimated shipment date. And only now is Cyberdrive looking for testers.

Who knows now we finally get some footage of these devices?

I must say the demo video posted today is impressive.  I do hope there is a way to increase the size of the "touch buttons" on the bottom of the UI interface for music player.  They look a bit small to me, and I'm concerned my clumsy fingers will have a bit of problems.  Overall, it looks like a nice unit, and well worth my investment.  Can't wait to get some feedback from the beta testers.

Let's hope they improve the UI a bit before the final release. Looks like even the guy in the video couldn't hit the right spot to skip to the next track. To me the device in the video looks a bit different than their other photos. So I guess there's still some changes ahead for the player. Overall I'm also happy to see the progress and I'm curious about the device.

Looks like the UI player buttons are a bit too small for the tester in the video too. :)

But certainly looks like the hardware is coming along/working in this prototype.
I take this as a good sign personally, and as a funder of other products (one that went over a year past the projected fulfillment date) I'm not that terribly concerned. But definitely looks like it will be AT LEAST another month or two for full production/shipping--particularly as it will take time for beta-testing and the conclusions of such, which could lead to further implementation/changes.

Can anyone tell if the plug is indeed a usb-Type C? Seems to work well plug-and-play to the big monitor, even plugging/unplugging repeatedly.

I've put my name in the hat for beta-testing, but i really don't want the one that got sneezed on in the video! ;)
Poor guy--my allergies are kicking in the last few days myself!

Lol @ them keeping buddy coughing at the end in there.

I agree, the editing for the video could have been better and we could have been spared the coughing spell...  But at least we have signs of life of an independent, functioning ProX player, and it even appears to be playing DSD 64 and DSD 128 files...

It did change the moaning from "its a con trick" too Hey you mean we have to wait another month...8^/ people...

I asked for a beta hardware unit, just not sure if we can report much with an NDA. I just want to help them, get the product right.

Hopefully the Cyberdrive team will learn from the feedback for any future projects regarding keeping backers updated. I'm on the Echobox DAP indiegogo as well, which was originally due to be delivered around the end of March like the Pro X. The Echobox guys let everyone know a few months back that it was likely to be pushed back to a May delivery by the time they got the product the way they wanted it, and no one batted an eyelid. The CD team kept pushing "end of March" right up until this week, and people have been ready to burn the internet down.

Hey ho - at least everything is moving, which is a good sign so have a feeling ofwe sit tight, good things will come our way!

Echo box hit the nail on the head everytime. For a US based office Seiun should be doing a Bart Simpson and writing on the blackboard I must update people more 100 times.. 8^D..
Skarp lazer razer did a turtle impression after getting kicked of kickstarter. They add people to face book now it's ok again..
Kokoon EEG sleep headphones, should be on my head looking September now..
Not a peep from backers..
I am relieved Seiun have got to Beta testing now. Just a weekly update would have done. Now this has a giant magnifying glass rather than we are now
doing a production run, a few weeks later than planned... Which is quite an achievement. How much is LH LABS waiting through change fear in our community and IDGG I don't know.
A lot of fuss just to back a 4k playing Dap. My ex didn't cause this much emotion and she was crazy...
We could have saved up and gone to the local store....But life is a Journey we learn from...I have learned a lot from this...

It's gave us all something and at least something to talk about... And it's nice talking to you guys and gals..I wouldn't be here other wise... 8^)

I'm on with Echobox as well and the last I hear was April delivery, although May does sound more likely. They've had working prototypes for quite a while, so I'm kind of surprised it's taking this long. They delivered in spades with the Finder IEM's so not worried at all. The most important thing is to get it right. They even asked for the personalization info quite a while ago, so I wonder if they ran into something not anticipated. I think Seiun will come through too although they could have learned from Echobox in how to handle the campaign in a way that didn't alienate their customers

Echobox has been saying May delivery for a bit. I'm betting on them to deliver first, but we'll see which devices are more functional.

You're correct. I went back through my emails and they have been saying early May as of late February. Hopefully both of these DAP's will come through fully functional and in a reasonable time frame. I'm pretty confident in Echobox and have no reason to doubt the Seiun
