These are photos of the planar magnetic prototype.
Final appearance will be slightly different.
Two headphones, one planar magnetic flagship and one closed back with dynamic driver.
Planar magnetic about €1800 and dynamic about €800.
Drivers specially made for these headphones alone.
Both easy to drive about 32Ω and high sensitivity.
Both with detachable cables with 3-pin XLR.
Aluminium frames and yokes.
Padded headband
Magnetically attached ear-pads.
Build like a tank but not heavy m
Of course they are going to have a touch different sound signatures the one from the other.
I had the chance to listen extensively to the planar version and what I can say is that it sounds really good.
I criticized a couple of things and they said that are excaltly what they are trying to improve in the final tuning.
Both made in Germany.
I am going to review both, ETA about 8 weeks or so with a grain of salt.

...and every other question I can think of
Apparently planar; according to a post by @Fegefeuer in the v590 thread. Interesting news from Lake People. They make great amps, not sure about headphones though.

Planar open back
Dynamic closed
Dynamic closed
Guys check the updated post no 2
Looks promising so far. Hope they also sound good eventually. Surprised that they paired the planar open-back with non-perforated solid leather pads for the prototype. Typically, open-back headphones pairs better with perforated pads to give that extra airiness and staging effect.

Unfortunately I don't remember if the latter is going to be a closed back.

This is only a prototype.
Nothing yet is in final form and they are fine tuning so there is a chance that they are also experimenting with other type of pads too.

"New headphone brand Seaside: at a press conference on 18 May 2023 at the High End in Munich, cma audio proudly presented the first two models of the new headphone brand Seaside. Two models will be available at the start, an open magnetostat for about 1800€ and a closed dynamic headphone for about 800€. Both are to be produced entirely in Germany and aim to provide particularly lively sound. The models are expected to be available around September; no names have been given yet."

Makes you wonder why a company that makes high powered headphone amps would design highly sensitive headphones lol

Their high powered amps can take on sensitive headphones too, simply by design and technical merits. Also imagine having adjustable gain settings on such an amp!
