I plan to burn in the Telefunken E88CC TK tubes and listen to my favorite headphones and let everyone know how they sound. I have not heard JJ tubes, but will take pics and compare to JJ tubes.
Cheers.
Have you compared it to the JJ tubes later on, what were the results? That's a very interesting comparison, and I'm very curious about the result!

By the way have you compared it to the original Telefunken E88CC

My favorite tube(s) with the LYR+ and LYR 3 are 6922s with a 6922-to-6SN7 adapter.
. . . better than any single 6SN7s that I have tried to date (and I have a box-full of them), and even better than any 2x 6J5s I have tried to date.
. . . currently running the LYR+ with a Sylvania 6DJ8: the best match so far with the AKG K340 [w/Inner Fidelity EQ]: spacious, tonally rich, detailed and vivacious(!).

I went down the old is new road. I still have 15 or so tubes, all good, many trophy tubes.

I use Chinese tubes now, almost exclusively (although I really like the Russian Tung Sol). I wish I could say the vintage tubes were better. They're not.

Ready supply, around ~$50 per tube. Good value, good sound. Psvane, Shugang, or my current favorite, Ray select. I purchased 4 last year at their introductory price of $50.00, without tax or shipping. They're currently $65

😳😢. Sanjiv was above all else a gentleman. I enjoyed correspondence with him on tube subjects and beyond -- besides his exemplary way of doing the business which he loved. 🙏
