Wait till January. Of course I'm in Michigan so our weather changes every 5 minutes.

It's the opposite -- being an OTL, the Valhalla 2 doesn't play nicely with low impedance 'phones. Your Aeon 2's have a 13 ohm impedance, so they aren't just low impedance, they're very low impedance.Hey now @GumbyDammit223! I was intrigued with your thoughts above. I put on Loreena McKennitt's 'The Mummers' via Qobuz. Tried it first with my Qoboz=>BF2/64=>Jot2=> DCA Aeon2 Open. Everything sounded very good and well put together. Very enjoyable. Next, I tried it with the Vallhalla2 on low gain. Bass was very muddy and distorted. I tried switching to high gain, and it made everything even worse. I then played the track again with the same setup but with the Feliks Audio Espressivio (also an OTL Amp). The track sounded absolutely exquisite with this setup. The Mummers track on the Vallhalla2 is virtually unlistenable with the DCA Aeon2 Opens. I put on one of my new Grateful Dead discs using the Vallhalla2 and Aeon2 open. Also unlistenable. It appears that the Vallhalla2 doesn't have enough punch to do the job. I guess I've only used the DCA HP's on my Jot2 previously, and they sound great. It appears to me that to some degree or another, the Valhalla2 can't play well with high impedance headphones. Used the Grado Hemps with the same gear, same tracks, and no issues at all.

Glad to see you back! And more gladder that you're feeling better.Hi, folks. I'm back among the living again. Managed to "acquire" COVID back on 7/16, spent about a week with what felt like a bad case of the flu followed by a few weeks of feeling like warm dog poop. Spent this past week getting caught up on everything except for Head-Fi. 188 pages on this thread to catch up with. And a couple other groups to get caught up on.
While I haven't read through everything yet, I have settled in with my Folkvangr, though I did make one tube change - replaced the 6n1p with 6CG7s. The 6CG7 is a 6SN7 in a Noval envelope. Adds some of the 6SN7 type "magic" (for lack of a better word) to the sound of the amp. Which was what I felt was missing in my earlier listening tests before I got ill. With the impedance multiplier engaged, I'm really enjoying the sound with both my LCD-3 and DCA Ether C 'phones. Very engaging, easy to get lost in.
Nights are cooling down here in New England, mid to low 50's, upper 40's. The warmth off the amp is nice.
I haven't tried any 6CG7's in Folkvangr, but now I will. Have a pair of silver shield SWGP Reflector 6N23P's in there right now, and they're a very marked improvement over the stock 6N1P's. Just glad I got them before the prices went beyond stupid.

Does 6CG7/6FQ7 need an adapter? I have 2 pairs of RCA, 1 clear top, and one chrome top.Glad to see you back! And more gladder that you're feeling better.

-edit-
figured out they don't and work fine, giving them a go now.
I also put a 6h30pi-EH in socket #5 in each channel since I had a pair laying around.

It shouldn't. 6DJ8, 6922, ECC88, 6CG7, 6BZ7, and 6Н5П should all work. Same as with the Valhalla and Vali.Does 6CG7/6FQ7 need an adapter? I have 2 pairs of RCA, 1 clear top, and one chrome top.

You mean low impedance, right? Æon 2 impedance: 12.2 Ohm @ 20Hz,12.3 Ohm @ 11.0kHz. Compare Ether C Flow: 23 Ohm; ZMF Auteur: 300 Ohm.high impedance headphones

If you have a pair lying around - I might want to buy it from you (for a different amp)...I also put a 6h30pi-EH in socket #5 in each channel since I had a pair laying around.
PM me if interested
Are Jason and Mike say they're not in business like heroin dealers, hooking us on the cheap stuff before raising the price once we get a taste of that good, discrete r2r stuff.
It becomes less difficult to see their genius after dropping over $500 on -- essentially accessories and upgrades.
It's more than my first Schiit entire amp / dac purchase!
That's it.
Better sounding records with Mani 2.
Better connections to my Yggy if I can find a disc player with usb AHEMAHEMAHEM ... I won't install it until then I guess, I don't use the Yggy on the desktop so it's cd or dap > coax
and some baby r2d2's to play in the Freya ... I may breed 'em!
Not sure if they come potty trained and with food?

Don't Panic.......“Space," it says, "is big. Really big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mindbogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist's, but that's just peanuts to space, listen...”
That's good. So you'll be used to wearing pads and a helmet ....Thanks for the info. I also love hockey.
Alaska chefs do steak about as good as Texas chefs do fish, but there are a couple exceptions. If you can get past the dive bar atmosphere, Club Paris has been serving perfect steaks and martinis for probably 60+ years. Another is the Double Muskey, though I haven’t been there in at least a decade so the quality could have tanked.Ha! Chet Atkins(ish) with a great sense of humor...and timing
