I’ve mused about picking up a B-stock A2, to replace my Magni3. 0% need. My Valhalla2 is an awesome toy (Is its SQ or output into HD650 different from an Asgard? No idea). And if I want to mess around with tubes, I fire up my tricked out Vali-2.

My guts telling me the sound from an Asgard is = to my VH2. My next frivolous can purchase will be a planar magnetic of some kind. Perhaps the benefits of an Asgard will be lost on me.....?..... Magni3 & Vali2 should be enough to drive Audeze or HiFiMan or Fostex (<$800 CDN). No?

I have the Hifiman HD4xx cans, and they are driven daily on low gain by Vali2. Sundara test pair on their way to me now, will advise!

HD4xx pairs with Vali2. Nice! When they arrive, @JamminVMI , take a look at the plastic (?) junction where the plastic headband, spring-steel band and post (leading down to the driver-cups). Curious to see your observations...

You mean on the Sundara, right? And i should have said that I use V2 on low gain with the 4xxs. And I have a very lg knob on V2, the better for fine adjustments...

This is how I shipped it to Schiit. I don't have a vivid memory of how the Jotunheim was packaged originally, but I don't think there was an outer box. To me, an outer box doesn't look necessary, looking at how the unit is protected, and how much space there is around the unit in the box.
