Now all need is a $30,000 rack and a 13,000 power cord to really bring out the Freya's full potential.

You also need the new Wilson speakers at $685,000.00. Two Vidars will drive them just fine.

A couple of my tubes are loose in the base which makes removal a little unnerving. Freya is just so outstanding it's like a gift. The tubes are there to get you in the ballpark. It will be easy to spend more on tubes than what Freya costs if so desired. Balanced is the way to go especially from an Yggy. The dynamics of Freya in tube mode most certainly will benefit from the headroom of two balanced Vidar's. Just sayin'.

Why stop there?  You must also buy some of the multi-thousand dollar tubes.

I mean, really, what would make more difference a megabuck power cable or a megabuck tube?

Truth be told, the stock tubes sound good, but I found their build quality so so. I had to wiggle and work each stock
tube carefully to install and remove. The Tung Sols slip right in like butter.

That's interesting...every tube product I've ever had was a 'wiggle job' to get tubes in.

The 1961 RCA 6SN7GTB that I put on Saga didn't need to be wiggled as well.

I actually managed to break the center pin on one - and I didn't use that much force. But some Tung Sols are on the way as replacements.

I've probably already spent another $700 on great tubes to roll, so why not?

But I think those $2,000 isolation feet and a $100 fuse are what you really need if you want to achieve....absolutely nothing.

The comment section in that first one... So short, and yet so hilarious.

For that price, I could buy a couple of stereo racks, each with four seats and an engine!

Getting attacked by the editorial team followed by random people for not believing obvious BS is pretty funny... Remind me to never go on stereophile ever again other than when I want a laugh!

You laugh, but I actually baught a set of mini stillpoints for my Yggy which proved a very tangible benefit...
They were £400 not $2,000 though...

I don't laugh at all, there are numerous changes we can make to our systems that can positively affect sound reproduction. This is particularly true in 2-channel audio where the room is getting loaded with vibrations.

One of the customers at a local hifi shop(i was told by a consultant there) built his/her house around the turntable, starting with a big solid slab of concrete to act as a platform for the turntable and building the house around it. he/she is probably one of the owners of those KEF MUONs or Gryphoon KODOs they have standing around. Prices on those are so obscene i don't even want to listen to them xD

Yeah, but that's a turntable.  It's obviously susceptible to vibrations.

It's not obvious why a well-built DAC would benefit from vibration reduction in any normal home setting.

Only thing I can think of is cable microphonics on the interconnects between the DAC and amp. If the DAC is sitting on a 2000W SUB blasting fullforce i guess you could probably notice it to some degree.
