Playing Chicago/Reiner/Scherezade right now, and stage is around one foot outside either speaker; hall sound is magnificent
My speaker system test too :)

It's surprising to me to hear that there are music playback protocols using UDP. Latency is certainly very important for gaming, and it matters for video playback at least to the point that you can control synchronization by delaying the video to match the audio. But for simply listening to an audio recording, I don't see why an extra few hundred milliseconds would matter at all. I've cued records with the ~300 ms latency of Bluetooth audio and it's a bit weird, but as long as it gets there within a couple of seconds without dropouts then I'd call it a success for music listening. I've also used Pulseaudio over TCP for many hours, and if anything, I'd lean toward a larger buffer and longer latency to make sure it all gets there. TCP seems a lot more likely to me to ensure that there aren't any dropouts, and any dropout is simply devastating compared to a minor loss of transport control responsiveness.
I'm just happy URD doesn't use UDP/TCP/HLS or any of the protocols the hip kids use to post on InstaG. 🤣

Sorry to hear that you are not well. Some strong, hot tea with a touch of lemon, honey, and a good shot of tasty bourbon; drunk quickly, followed by a trip to bed and a nap; does wonders.
Alternative: one orange, two aspirins, one glass of Alka Seltzer. Then sleep for a while.

Hope you get back on your feet quickly. I'm just now starting to feel human again after one of the worst colds I've had in many, many years. And it's not that it made me feel extremely horrible, just that it's taken forever to get over it. Not Covid, fortunately....maybe I'm just allergic to Oklahoma. 🤣
One thing's for sure ... watch out for those damn tornados. Need to have a safe place!

T-25 torx heads don’t cam-out / strip like the philips heads do. Can break in half if too aggressive on the Impact’s trigger though

That setup must sound wonderful. Esp after yggy A1 settles in

Perhaps a single 18” ASC bass trap stack for that rear corner?
Cheaper - for now - to just not sit there…

I love all the various shades of expertise present in this forum. So many varied hobbies and careers and pastimes. It's fun!
Haha, mine is more like just raw experience over 34 years with same speakers… so pretty NARROW (at least there)

My speaker system test too :)
The extreme highs (violins, piccolos, etc.) and the stupendous bass/cello sections, the main violins, OMG there is just so much there to check for timbres and fr alone, let alone staging, dynamics, etc,

This was one of HP’s first Golden Ear recordings IIRC - for a good reason

Today’s projects: clean up the mess, go out and find a nice bright LED stand-light to sit next to turntable, get to Lowes to get more and better T25 torx heads to further buttress in basement

Oh, and did I say clean up the mess? Got pone more salamander to go. THIS mess.

Heres the long view towards listening end; note the opening to left (to dining room; unloads that end/side), note the hard corner on other side; wifey’s curio cabinet MUST live there (nod to being allowed to (mostly) dominate the rooms use cases). So, no tube trap there. It does have about a 1 1/2 square foot equilateral triangle behind it (it’s a corner unit by design), so maybe I can just stuff some rock wool behind there? Low down on the list

Lots of decluttering to do before wifey gets back
