Do yourself a favor and queue this album up tonight...

In a dark room with your favorite beverage in hand.

Have it already. :L3000:

I can imagine how it sounds with your Aegir 2 (Halo).

Yes, Sir ~~
Finland and Icelandic language are difficult to remember ..... Eyjafjallajökull ..... difficult to pronounce it right too ...
i actually CAN pronounce that- it's even kinda easy for me for some reason- probably all those sales calls trying to never mispronounce a name. That is a great sales tactic when a potential buyer has a tough name. Can't even tell you how many times that worked for me over the years lol.
That said, there's a zero % chance that I could spell it though .

This is nothing compared to my wife's pottery kiln, and I save a lot of money on heat since most all amps are class A. My downstairs stays cool so this is a good way to warm the room.
Might as well build yoself a windmill lol.
I've been experimenting and rolling tubes in my Freya N for about 15 months now and so far, Telefunken ECC88's are my clear favourites. I snapped up another pair just this week. Very close are some Raytheon's made in Japan in the early-mid 1960's, mid-1950's adapted Brimar 12AT7/CV455's, early 1960's Amperex Bugle Boys...

Folks here have been extremely helpful and patient with my questions.
Telefunken ECC88 will look sick in a black Vali 3!

You are an engineer, a mad lad scientist, a woodworker, an electrician, an audiophile.... you better not be handsome lol. Save some talent for the rest of us, Pally!

Do not forget he has a beauuutiful cat ..... :cat:

Maybe this will discourage you, the tubes in my main power amp would set you back about $3k, even new Russian or Chinese built replacements could be $1500. Then you have the cost of the amp itself. You have to go back in time to find specific tubes at a bargain, those days are over for the most part. :beerchug:
Yeah, I know I couldn't play at those levels, at least not right now.

As with the really good Japanese Malts, I'm about a decade or more late to the party. 😒

The resellers that scooped up all the good tubes early 2000s made a killing.

I spent many years in the business, you have access and knowledge of liquors that I will never have. I have made a lot of friends along the way and if I need something I know who to ask. Sometimes it is just about networking.

Not all. Not yet. 😉
I scooped up many good ones in the last five years but there were some that few people knew about I got for $20 or so.

Nope I am still "borrowing" it, I did return a Cary pre-amp that had an issue that occurred when he shipped it to me. He knows I have it and if I ever need to send it back I can always get an add on card for the PrimaLuna.
I have questioned your honesty and integrity over in the "show us your headphone listening station" forum. Better go defend yourself.

This is the easiest little guide specifically for the Freya N.

Sweet! This is a groovy chart. Thanks!

Anything similar for the more common tubes that can be used with adapters?
