Not only Finnegan, your system as well.
I was being facetious lol. It is a mix of gear and I can change out most any portion with other gear. Most everything in my shop is by Bob Carver, then I refurb powerful receivers from the 70's.

This is the place to get a guide or information, most of the tube lovers here are very friendly, but be aware, once you step in the tube world ... it hardly can stop .....
literally can get any tube question answered almost immediately by someone who knows off the top of their heads' right here in this thread.

You can also learn a lot of history when researching WW 2 era tubes. I designed an amp in order to win a bet and the power tubes were used in German and Russian transmitters from that time period. My power tubes in said amp were used on German U-boats and dated 1942.
a nazi amp lol

The top Tyr gets a little warm but is running fine otherwise.

I suppose there is no harm if the Tyrs don't get hot, but the Tyr manual explicitly advises, "Do not stack your Tyrs".

I mean, we wouldn't want anyone to misspell anything or use incorrect grammar on the internet, would we? 😜

your power bill LOLOL
This is nothing compared to my wife's pottery kiln, and I save a lot of money on heat since most all amps are class A. My downstairs stays cool so this is a good way to warm the room.

Oh yeah, I can imagine it being a lifelong pursuit, and it's apparent some of you guys have been doing just that for years and years - again, that's cool!!!

I haven't started rolling tubes in my Freya N and probably won't until I finally get the Aegir 2 & Zu's I'm hoping to purchase, but I find myself growing more tube curious by the day!

I fully blame this thread for that. 😂

I've been experimenting and rolling tubes in my Freya N for about 15 months now and so far, Telefunken ECC88's are my clear favourites. I snapped up another pair just this week. Very close are some Raytheon's made in Japan in the early-mid 1960's, mid-1950's adapted Brimar 12AT7/CV455's, early 1960's Amperex Bugle Boys...

Folks here have been extremely helpful and patient with my questions.

he is a great looking cat I will admit.

By changing the length of those copper columns, I can change the height of any shelf, I made plenty of extras. The process to get that patina only takes a day and I have done a lot of it. faraday.jpg
You are an engineer, a mad lad scientist, a woodworker, an electrician, an audiophile.... you better not be handsome lol. Save some talent for the rest of us, Pally!
