Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

To circle back to a brief discussion a couple of weeks and hundreds of posts ago about Canada/the world using the Metric system and the USA holding firm to its unique system of measures, this popped up on my FB feed. The BBQ reference puts it squarely on the sine-wave 😉

Classy. Lucky man.
Well I would build a nice board for someone who could reciprocate with a highly rated bottle of Tennessee bourbon, namely Peg Leg Porker. 🤪

Oh and on the subject of bourbon and electronic devices. I mentioned Buffalo Trace Bourbon to my wife and suddenly she is getting adds for that brand on Facebook! Just us talking about it was enough.

Thanks to @Paladin79, my board arrived safely and been employed doing what it does best. The board is reversible, so it has indents to hold tasting glasses on one side, and old fashioned size glasses on the other. @Paladin79 exceeded his normally fine woodworking skills in producing this outstanding work of art, and I am happy to receive it (although I could not find any paw prints from the shop boss, Finnegan).
Beautiful!!

As is the sound I get from two of my tube power amps thanks to others. 😉
We call it "Pay it forward". I learnt it at primary school, and I love that Amercian movie with the same name as well.

It was kind of you to sign the waiver that allowed me to use tiger maple in Sam’s build.😁
Well, Sam's a good guy and I figured an exception was warranted for him. 🤣

Time to kill Alexa.
I have no Alexa devices hooked up, now Siri is another matter. I did just order some Buffalo Trace so maybe it was the store sharing info. I just did an experiment by mentioning Peg Leg Porker bourbon to her, we’ll see if that pops up.

Hell's ducks, if you want one I will build you one, but I bet I can some up with something much nicer looking. Fall on that thing after a few drinks and you would be impaled lol.
Combo taco holder/punji trap? No thanks!

I'm counting on you making something much nicer! This one looks a bit more challenging and looks like the taco holding size is adjustable.

But, really, I'm just awaiting your inspiration with bated breath, @Paladin79, to see what gorgeosity made wooden you come up with.

That is more what I had in mind, I will consider it. How many taco locations would you want?

Sam has always been a friend and has been helpful in several areas. He is among a group of people I try to help unconditionally. @jonathan c and @emorrison33 have been extremely helpful with tubes and a set of speakers, I try to never forget a favor so I would build for them as well. I suppose it could be called reciprocal altruism. I might repair an audio receiver for a neighbor and suddenly enough firewood appears to last me two winters.

Much of the banter about cardboard started when I gifted @bcowen an amplifier. I bought a glorious piece of tiger maple yet I could not get my amp to fit into the case sideways.😉 I used rainbow poplar which he began referring to as cardboard. It took me a few years to find suitable tiger maple so I rebuilt his cabinet accordingly.
LOL! That's not exactly how I remember it. The rainbow poplar amp was quite beautiful itself. Yes, I like the tiger maple one better, but the first one didn't need to make any excuses. I think when I suggested tiger maple for Version 2, you said you'd make it out of cardboard 'cause that's all I deserved (which is probably true ).

May be Paladin will ship you cardboard stacks which can last for two winters (kidding only).....
