And I'm more than happy with my Lores. They're the best $5k speaker that I've ever spent $1k on. 🤣
Wow!!! @bcowen and @Ripper2860 agree on something... Sounds like end of days!! What's next? You'll finally agree on the best BBQ??? :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

How dare you insult @StimpyWan by insinuating that you both share something in common. :unamused:

Well, we do share a common border between our 2 states. Not much can be done about that, unless I move 1 state north. Then I'd be a Yankee. Can't do that...! 🤣

I have the RS1x. They aren’t particularly bright, but I recall the original BF2 giving it a slightly warmer sound and a syrupy mid bass.
Is it genuine maple syrup or flavored corn syrup?

Sorry, couldn't resist.

Don't you need to be working or something?

I'm trying WFH today for the first time. It's going exceedingly well, except for the work part. 🤣

What do people think of Zu Audio speakers?
Specifically the Dirty Weekend 6 that went on sale today?
$1599 + $299 [natural hickory] + $499 [Superfly upgrades]

I would pair with Ragnarok 2 (+/- Tyr amps in future).
And Yggdrasil v2 DAC.
Despite a lot of gear, I have never owned high end speakers.
I wouldn’t consider these high end. But new, value oriented full(-ish) range speakers.
They would replace KEF LS50’s, which would move to one of my office near field locations.
I also have a 7.1 home theater with nice looking, but likely “good” value speakers from the 2008 era now bankrupt av123 company.

I have not heard any of the Dirty Weekend 6, no one has except Zu, they are brand new. I can say with confidence the PREVIOUS incarnation of the Zu Dirty Weekend based on the Omen speakers are excellent. The build quality is second to none, they are like fine furniture, and they sound amazing for the price. I pair them with a Schiit Aegir, Freya S and Bifrost 2. The new 6 are a bit different in topology, they are a spinoff of the (also) new Union 6 speakers that replaced the Omen line of floor standing speakers.

Generally, I would say they are probably good value for the money like the old Omen Dirty Weekend, but there is no way to know except to listen to them.

Yep. Personally, I enjoy it a lot. It may not be as warm/dark as the original BF2, but it makes up for it in increased clarity and imaging, which has been great for my desktop speakers but not as great for my Grado headphones. I see the new card as a different flavor since it leans a little more towards a neutral sound.
Thanks for the reply and Bifrost 2/64 being more suited to speakers than headphones, does the Lyr+ bring any change to this notion?

Some good news: the Urd transport manufacturer responded (most likely it was a miscommunication on our side.)

So it looks like Urd will proceed!

Timeline TBD...
