Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

from the youtube yggdrasil assembly / disassembly videos, the analog boards look to be plug-in (just don't offset the blind headers as this might make for a very bad day). also a ribbon header on the underside near the front panel and a whole lotta screws. Firmware updates might present an issue to self-installs...
I watched that video as well, no firmware updates via rj11 jack, at least on the motherboard - I trust those would be on daughter boards

rj11 firmware load for vidar:

I've bought B-stock and C-stock products and have absolutely no complaints about what I received. The C-stock Mjolnir had a couple very, very, very minor blemishes in the grained aluminum that I had to look for very carefully. The C-stock Valhalla had nothing wrong that I could find.
I'll admit to being somewhat disappointed, and a little guilty, that the several pieces of B-Schiit I've bought have been, with careful examination, absolutely perfect. I feel vaguely cheated...

I have bought a few Steven Wilson remixes of Jethro Tull albums on CD and they sound great.
It is really good to have access to lots of other Steven Wilson remixes on Qobuz, such as five Yes albums ( The Yes album through to Relayer) as these are only available on a vinyl box set, and I no longer have a turntable, or phono stage.

It is almost impossible to find the Yes remixes and some sellers are asking over £270 on eBay!
I wanted to buy it as a present for an old friend who is a huge Yes fan, but it is out of stock everywhere in Europe.
I have ordered from a company in Germany, but even they say it will take at least 4 weeks if they can locate stocks.
HDTracks has the complete Steven Wilson Yes remixes at reasonable prices. 16/44.1, 24/44.1, and 24/96

I got a C stock Magni 3. No blemishes but a scratchy volume pot. But it's my backup to the backup amp and I can always spray the pot or outright replace it so it's whatever.

Maybe try repositioning the placement of the knob. If it's set too close to the chassis, the knob can rub, which makes it seem as if the pot feels rough. I believe Schiit now uses a small felt doughnut behind the knob, to prevent this.

A senior edition of the Jot2 might be nice. 3 levers with a total of 12 positions makes this old man a very confused little boy when my signal is lost and I put the cables on the wrong way which is why my Vidar has blinking light in front.

I'm thinking one button that says 'play'.

Jeff Beck is groovy.

If you are ever in Frankfurt - get the Hawai Pizza from Foodrockers (I put ground beef, gorgonzola and extra mozzarella on it) everybody who tried it is ordering only that pizza from them now. I works for a simple reason - enzymes in the pineapple help disolve/digest proteins and fat in the cheese and meat, thats why the taste balances out so nicely.
Indeed that's why lots of people eat pineapple other than it's taste.
Those same enzymes make it impossible to make pineapple icecream.

Well, yeah. The coconut enzymes beat the pineapple enzymes into submission. And NC pineapples are better than TX pineapples. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes::stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Haha....
Close but no cigar.
Trust me.
There's no way to make pineapple (only) icecream without using chemical tricks that normal icecream doesn't.
Of course using flavour esters doesn't count either.

Pineapple and papaya are both great digestive aids.
Doesn't someone also use them in their version of BBQ? (Serious question)

Not serious part: I imagine the only pineapple a Texan knows about is the one with a pin....

Don't know about papaya but pineapple certainly. I like to grill fresh pineapple and serve it with grilled beef or pork.

We use cactus as a pineapple substitute.

Grilled pineapple is fantastic. I've incorporated grilled pineapple into salsa as well. Haven't tried cactus yet.
