Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

I think I had that receiver for a few months a while ago. It really made music an intolerable experience :)

Judging from https://www.beoworld.org/prod_details.asp?pid=435 the Aegir seems like it would work fine. If that's the one you have?

Yes, that's the one I have. Although the details mention two type-numbers, one with 2 and the other with 3 speakers. Since the front is not removable, I don't know which one I have! The sticker on the back that is supposed to tell the type, has come off many years ago.

Thanks for the confirmation that this should be a decent combination :) And confirming that the amp is the first that must be out... :D

Although @Derrick Swart did get me thinking about new speakers, and looking at websites where they sell such things. Something that is multidirectional might spread the sound better around the strange-shaped room we have. But not for now!

I have been curious about omnis but have never heard one. The king of that roost is Radialstrahler but that's a lottery winner's speaker

Ohm makes some great speakers at all kinds of price points and Larsen's seem like something worth considering if room layout is an issue and budget can manage.

So many interesting things out there if monkey coffins are not your thing. Maybe post over onto https://www.head-fi.org/threads/schiit-two-channel-clubhouse.843459/ for even more suggestions.

I bet @bcowen can also tell if its Live or Memorex.

Was a Maxell fan myself...if for no other reason than I owned JBL L100s as a teenager and had this poster on my wall

Not to be a killjoy or anything, but I have about as much interest in doing a sorbothane test as I have in getting a root canal. Not sure which is more miserable -- could probably do a test on that though. :relaxed: The tube challenge was fun 'cause I got to hear some really nice sounding tubes I hadn't heard before. A sorbothane challenge would just be a matter of evaluating suckage. Kind of like a test to determine which year of GE 6SN7's sound the worst. LOL!

LOL so both of us need to have fun? What an interesting concept.

Balvenie double wood is a go to for me...the Caribbean cask is good but honestly the double has a better flavor profile for me. Whiskey and Audio...such a great pairing...well let me rephrase...booze and audio such a great pairing lol
I am partial to the 21 year old PortWood myself but I do like most any Balvenie.

LOL! SO TRUE. Those GEs are so resoundingly bad. Even the earlier GTAs are still bad, bad, bad. I do love their old 5751s and 12AX7s though!

Those are all delicious. I have a DW12 and Caribbean Cask on hand, and even the non-Scotch guys/gals like the latter.

My collection at work...I will say these are not my favorites lol, but the Aberfeldy 12 is a solid smooth scotch. The Einar comes in second the rest are meh...hence why they are at work lol...the Jura is a discontinued batch, so at least it is unique...Whistle Pig 10 is not my preference for ryes...but it is highly recommended so I brought it in for others to try.

My home collection is more to my preference:wink: If anyone is interested I can post some whiskey porn lol

I may have to put the golden poo on my Schiit stuff when I finally order that Black Bifrost 2 and Black Freya+ (you know when they come in black  )

and Bowmore?

I have it on occasion but I do not recall specifics that much. My son does more scotch tasting, his are arranged by regions of Scotland. A friend here sent me these, a couple come out of England and are not easy to get in the states. I want to say the Glen Moray was aged in cider barrels, I loved its unique flavor.
