My collection at work...I will say these are not my favorites lol, but the Aberfeldy 12 is a solid smooth scotch. The Einar comes in second the rest are meh...hence why they are at work lol...the Jura is a discontinued batch, so at least it is unique...Whistle Pig 10 is not my preference for ryes...but it is highly recommended so I brought it in for others to try.

My home collection is more to my preference:wink: If anyone is interested I can post some whiskey porn lol

I may have to put the golden poo on my Schiit stuff when I finally order that Black Bifrost 2 and Black Freya+ (you know when they come in black  )
Not to put a fine point on it but eh.... you drink alcohol at work?

In our office, and several places I've worked at before, it's OK on Friday after 4pm.
Various bottles of strong distilled stuff are strewn around the office here, and there's a tall fridge full of beer.

Of course I can't speak for Darthpool...

@Pietro Cozzi Tinin We have "happy hours" at work. Usually, it is in celebration of a "success" or even just to keep morale up. We have bar karts etc. These usually occur after working hours, or on half-days. Most of the people at my work commute via bus/bike/train/walk etc, so drinking isn't too big of an issue for getting home. I have a longer drive commute, so I usually just "share" my booze and don't partake (or have very little, as I am very opposed to drinking and driving, I have a Law Enforcement background). I think we are all adults and as long as people aren't abusing alcohol they don't really care. I'm not one to imbibe to oblivion...I prefer to have one or two drams of 1.5-2oz or so at a time, and I rarely ever do more than that. I'm 6'2" or 1.87meters tall and around 215-220lbs/ 97.5-99.7kilograms...so that amount of booze (depending on percentage) usually just gets me relaxed and not impaired. =)

Aha, that sounds like a perfect reason to have it in the office.
Another thing: Here in The Netherlands everyone who partakes in public traffic can be fined (or worse) for drinking too much.
The reasoning behind it is the fact that pedestrians, cyclists et all can also cause accidents.
There's no patrolling on those two categories but if an accident occurs, or he/she is a major nuisance in traffic, one always gets tested.

We used to occasionally do wine or beer at lunch but some of the younger guys would get carried away so we had to put a stop to it. All of my employees drive here and I live an hour away myself so no sense risking anyone getting into an accident, or pulled over. Laws vary state to state but here, even a home owner can be held responsible if they provide alcohol. When we do have after hour parties we try to make sure everyone has a designated driver, and in the past we would just rent a campground with cabins and hotel rooms so no one had to drive home.

Now for something completely different:
When I look into my Mjolnir I see those two little lights.
Can anyone tell me what they are?
I can't imagine a reason why the inside of the amp needs any light other than fairies living inside.
And I am pretty sure fairies can see perfect in the dark.

Those are LEDs used for biasing. A more complete, technically competent explanation will have to wait on someone else.

Pietro, how do you like the Mjolnir? I am considering either one of those or a Lyr 3.

The Mjolnir 2 is the best HP-Amp I ever listened to. (and that where a lot of them)
The Mjolnir 2 and the Valhalla 2 where my introduction to Schiit and as you are aware, I never looked back.

I have owned a Valhalla 2 and Lyr 2 so the Mjolnir 2 may be the next logical step. I do have plenty of 6922 type tubes to roll in such an amp.

IMHO, Mjolnir 2, amongst all Schiit, is in a class by itself, certainly with good, NOS bottles. It drives everything, with great authority, and enough clarity that it conveys convincingly exactly what it's given.

I continue to appreciate Valhalla 2, especially with 600 series Senns and NOS tubes, and a recent Jotunheim as well, but when I want the best quality attainable here, it's Mjolnir. Noms.

Those are actually used as voltage references for current sources. They're quieter than zeners, and they look neat.
