Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

I got my shipping notification 10 mins after placing the order. Those guys at Schiit really rock!
You guys, really? I placed my order, double Vidar with a side of Eitr at 9:35 AM California time (12:35 EDT) I missed it going live by a few minutes because I really was in the shiitr. It's after 5 PM here and nothing! Geez living here is like living in Canada!:beerchug: Doesn't matter I guess as it will come by stagecoach. So I'll go suffer through some tunes via a gen 3 board, and listen for Ableza's artifacts!

Since tomorrow is my 74th birthday, I ordered a Freya as a gift from my wife. I guess that it will be at least 25 days in the credit card billing cycle before she finds that she gifted me with this fine piece of Schiit. Freya will replace a 'bought new in 1962 Citation I' that has been upgraded and rebuilt 3 times. I wish that there was a rebuild kit for me.
PS: Vidar and Yggdrasil to go---will I last that long??

Yesterday was my birthday. My wife bought me two Vidar amps and a really nice chess set. She knows about the amps.....

Jason....please let us know when the Gen 5 USB boards are ready for us DIY'ers. I don't use USB for my Yggy (AES input there) but would like to get the Gen 5 USB Board DIY Kit for my Bimby/Jot stack.

Great job on the new stuff today!

So why would I want to use a Schiit Eitr over a Corning USB 3 Optical cable with a powered USB hub.

The Corning USB optical cable showed no difference in jitter performance.

Is SPDIF not inferior to asynchronous USB anyway.

Since my Audeze EL-8s are being repaired/replaced, I have all the time in the world to wait for my Bimby to get upgraded. Not wanting my Mimby to feel left out, I got an Eitr too. Curse you mister Stoddard and your clever marketing! *shakes fist* :smile_phones:

Forgive the noob question, but will the quality of the RCA cable make any difference coming from Eitr? I'm assuming just any old RCA cable will work for the coax out.
