So which does Jason prefer: Gen5 native or Eitr? :D

I placed my order for two Vidars and an Eitr at 11:38am CST, shipped at 2:14pm CST. Respect! Great service as usual!
I got my shipping notification 10 mins after placing the order. Those guys at Schiit really rock!

I don't suffer from any audio nervosa. I usually use a Modi Multibit.

For those of you who don't want to send your DAC in for Gen 5, just wait a bit...we'll have them for self-install eventually. We're just trying to make sure we have enough boards for current production and upgrades in the short term.

Sweeeeettt...Jason you guys run an incredible operation. Like others, I received my shipping notice for Vidar within a couple hours! And looking forward to the USB Gen5 board upgrade for my Gumby (via self-install eventually, for us way up here in the Great White North!)

Actually, to clarify a bit between BNC, AES, etc:

1. AES = SPDIF. Through a transformer. Via XLR. That is all. There is no magic to it.
2. Coax = BNC. With a different connector that offers impedance matching for GHz signals. This is very important for an oscilloscope. It is much, much, much, much (insert a bunch of "muchs" here) less important for digital audio speeds. In fact, it's likely that any "impedance mismatch" caused by RCA to BNC will be swamped by transformer ringing/trace routing/cable vagaries in any case.
3. If Eitr had AES, it would have to have an XLR connector. That's part of the AES spec. Which wouldn't fit in our standard small chassis. Which would have literally doubled the price. That seemed stupid, so we didn't do it.

Thanks for that Shipping an Yggy both ways would cost me as much as the board!

So did I read before, stacking Saga on top of Vidar would be a bad idea (even with a bit of extra space perhaps in between with some thicker feet or something)?

I see the pics show Freya on top of 2 Vidars...I assume that is maybe just to make a nice photo?? (by the way, any photos of the inside coming?)

Would it not matter then if I used a RCA to BNC cable from the Eitr to Gumby BNC IN? Or would RCA to RCA be preferred?

Jason, if you do in fact have stock of Eitr and they are for sale, where are you hiding them? Tried the website, no luck, tried email to info no reply yet. I would like to order one, instead of sending my recent Gumby back, but so far not luck. Can you help please?

Interesting. What would 'galvanic artifacts' sound like? Are we talking about clicks/pops/dropouts or something else?
I used that phrase completely tongue in cheek as there are no such things. :)
