On to other things, last night a future head-fier was born. Hope to share this hobby with my son when he grows up.
Congratulations!

I’ve been trying to teach my kids the head-fi but so far had limited success, the older ones are on the right path though with some Schiit and Sennheisers I have gifted them.

Question…

If I use one of my AudioQuest USB cables for my label printer, does it sound better?
Only if you label your audio cables with the higher resolution labels that the label printer will produce.

Audiophile Tip: Always place the labels on the SOURCE OUT end of the audio cable and NEVER use Comic Sans font.

Musical Fidelity vs Schiit...MF is on the top and Schiit on the right side...deeper meaning?
My Musical Fidelity remote has the model written on the bottom...

Enjoy!

Cheers!
Ha! No hidden meaning. My Freya N lives on top of my MF M2si, bypassing the internal MF pre-. Sounds so good! 😊

This is good advice, although it's rather difficult to have a source in end of the cable... 🤣

Only if the arrows on the new AQ directional USB cables are pointing at the source.

BTW @bcowen I wanted to say thanks for the PirateShip recommendation. The Folkvangr is headed back to San Antonio for repairs and it was much cheaper than going directly through UPS or FedEx or USPS. Appreciate the suggestion!
Glad it helped!

But credit where it's due -- it was @Paladin79 that told me about it a while back. Every now and then he has a good suggestion. 🤣

I never said achieving the ultimate sound quality was going to be easy.

Objectivist:
It’s just a cable, as long as it’s not broken and measures the same the printer will print and sound the same as with any other cable. It’s just digital bits after all.

Subjectivist:
Every cable is different and may have an effect on the sound. The bits are digital but are still transmitted by analog voltages, jitter might affect the timing and extend to the pace of the printer head, and thus also affect the quality and the distinct sound it makes.

Politically correct:
Only you can tell what sounds better to your ears, the only way to find out if it sound better to you, is to try it out and hear it for yourself and decide.

Audiophilia Nervosa Snake Oil:
For the love of everything holy, you did cryo treat it I hope? Both the cable and the printer? And don’t forget the EMI-absorbent pebbles! That makes an entire world of difference!

Sorry. I’ll go have my nap now. And my coffee.
🤪

No cryo treatment, I'm afraid. But I did burn it in for a few years by using it to stream music to different DACs. (Disgusting, I know, but "you gotta p!ss with the c@ck you got," as a female friend of mine used to put it so eloquently.)

I placed a door stop on the label printer, though. I hope that redeems me a bit.

No, but if you can get ahold of a Wyrd the labels might look better!
