Looking for a little help. I’ve just received a used Gungnir Multibit, and when I came to insert my interconnects into the female RCA connectors on the DAC, there was some movement in the connectors on the DAC. They moved around a little as I inserted the interconnect plugs. I just want to know if this is normal.

Do you have sound? If you do have sound, I personally wouldn’t worry about a little movement. I have single ended connections on other equipment that has a little bit of movement when inserting the RCA cables. I did just insert some RCA cables on my Gungnir and it has no movement when I inserted the RCA cables. But I mainly use XLR interconnects from my Gungnir to Mjolnir 2. So my single ended connections probably haven’t been used much.Looking for a little help. Perfectly normal, IMO, given the RCA jacks on the Gungnir aren't secured to the frame (e.g. with a retention nut), just soldered to the board.I have perfect sound. It’s not a lot of movement, just a bit of play.

I used the RCA's in my Gumby A1 once, that was my way out of issues. XLR >> SE. The same is reportedly true on the G2 - which I just bought on Valentine's Day.When I had my Gungnir MB that worried the heck out of me. Never had any problems
That means my Gungnir MB A1 w/ Unison OG owner, OG packing, manual, and sales slip available - contact if interested.

Does anyone happen to know the meaning of the number after the MB on the multibit sticker? Is it just the sequential order of multibit Gungnirs produced/upgraded?

Yes, some start with letters others with numbers.Does anyone happen to know the meaning of the number after the MB on the multibit sticker? Is it just the sequential order of multibit Gungnirs produced/upgraded?
Supposedly those starting with a 'C' or a number is the OG (A1 model, long held to be better than than the A2, including me). Those starting with 'B' are A2.

I believe the op is referring to the sticker on the left. The one pictured was purchased in January 2017.Yes, some start with letters others with numbers.

Umm yes, thats what I was thinking. I believe they stopped making A1 sometime in mid/later 2016.I believe the op is referring to the sticker on the left. The one pictured was purchased in January 2017.
There is more info to be had if one looks.
1000 is a later number on the actual MB serial, not all non B's are A1s.
Source: I repair MANY broken Gungnir transistor legs after they've been shipped as this is a weak point. The only way to know is to verify.

I upgraded my OG Gungnir to MB in August of 2016 and I got A1. I've had it a total of 12 years and it continues to make sound that I enjoy a lot. Mine's been back and forth to the mothership a couple of times for upgrades, but it's never had a single performance issue.
How hard is it to remove the case top to verify ? Is it a sandwich deal or is it one top piece like bifrost 2 which is easy to remove..
