Finland has them too. It's stupid when we have only one lane per direction >:<

We certainly have some in Norway.
Concrete blocks in the middle of the road that is. It block us from crossing into oncoming traffic and overtaking, but it also block ambulances, fire trucks, etc. from overtaking the regular traffic.

I am not overly pleased with them.

Not much to do, other than to hunk the horn and flash the lights.
Luckily there are very few places with these barriers.

Here are a picture showing one of them (placed only 13km from here):

They are part of a system designed to ensure zero accidents on the road. Though I don't see how they can ensure it, only make them less likely.

We also have them. One time, a person did come into the wrong lane after passing another car right before the barrier started. That is not a nice experience I imagine. No place to escape when a bus is coming towards you in 60mph.

What, so are these barriers in-between each lane going the same way or only in the middle of the road to prevent people from crossing over into oncoming traffic?

They are in-between lanes for traffic in the opposite direction. Aka, to prevent crossing over into oncoming traffic
