Hmm. My intention wasn’t meant to turn the thread to a RAD-0 hate group. They’re still amazing headphones to listen to, they just need a new headband.
Hoping the Rosson team reads some of these comments and takes the communities feedback and criticisms to heart.

There are plenty of headphones that sound better than RAD-0.

I would rather say there are NOT many headphones that sound better than the RAD-0, especially if you took price into consideration. I personally think the RAD-0 headband design is acceptable for comfort if one paid attention sitting the head pad squarely when putting on. I once considered adding the strap but now I can wear the RAD-0 for 2-3 hours with stock configuration, and my RAD-0 is #50, the early version which is supposed to be heavier.
I repeat, sitting the head pad squarely on top of one's head is the key.

The 2023 Diana V2 got a slight tuning tweak. It's a warm neutral headphone with a boatload of detail. Some of the highest technical performance in a headphone I've ever heard. Excellent imaging and layering. I haven't tried the bass ported pads but I'm sure it would make this even better. Bass is beautifully textured and has excellent quality but a bit light in quantity. The bass ported pads add about 3db sub bass and expand on the soundstage.
I'm not saying the Diana is a better headphone in a RAD-0 forum. They are very close in sound sig and both have their own strengths and weaknesses. At their respective price points the weaknesses aren't many.
I know Alex Rosson had talked about an upcoming revision to the RAD-0 headband. That was a while ago though and I'm not sure why it would take this long for a headband revision. Rosson would double their volume if they just revised the headband as it's one of the most talked about issues on the RAD-0.
Again, thanks a lot for explaining in a very understandable way. I'm sure your post will help many folks in here.

I never thought I'd be saying this but after A/B'ing with the RAD-0, Diana V2 and Final D8000 Pro last night I'll be listing my RAD-0's this weekend. I spent four hours back and forth and it's a tough decision. The RAD's have been my favorite sounding headphone up until I recieved the D8000's yesterday. I've owned 29 full size headphones in four years and up until last night the Rosson's would always be my pick so that's really saying something.
Between all three the RAD's come in last in a host of different categories but most of all the comfort is a major deterrent. And without any word from the Rosson team after numerous emails I'm tired of waiting for a headband revision that may never see the light of day.
I still think they're an end game but I really don't need three summit-fi headphones and the Rosson would never see any use.

The RAD is an endearing headphone with great tonality and enjoyability, but the comfort issue is a tough one.
I've owned it twice now, but also came to the same conclusion you have after having directly compared to D8K OG and Diana V2, which I owned at the time. D8K, in particular, fulfilled much of what the RAD gave me plus some additional benefits both sonically and comfort-wise.

D8000
Although I haven't yet heard RAD-0 (hopefully I will during the upcoming Munich event!) and I know that this is their thread, let me just say that D8000 are truly great cans

If enough people keep bringing this up, the odds are that the manufacturer will take this matter under a scope and address it eventually. It may not happen right away, but feedback from you guys and gals here on HF is more important than you think

It's a well known concern. Alex has even addressed it in multiple interviews and said publicly that the Rosson team are working on it.If enough people keep bringing this up, the odds are that the manufacturer will take this matter under a scope and address it eventually. That interview was two years ago and still no word from them at all.

I hear you. If I were a customer, I'd probably drop them a mail. Who knows, maybe there is any new info on the subject, just not yet announced here. Doesn't hurt to ask, I think!
Hope this helps, thanks!
