The bass eases out. Less thumpy. Decay becomes noticeably shorter. Details are brought out more. Mainly due to the fact that dynamic n armature driver's crossover becoming more seasoned..

I have the bass port option and bass does certainly tighten with burn in but it is still a bit generous on decay. However i like the bass response and find the treble the most offensive part of the sound.

It would be nice if anyone who actually has these to post pics when possible - these are still pretty reasonable - might be nice to see what they are offering.

Posted this in another thread, but shall post here as well~
These really sound great especially with the lune cable, and the bass is really something special. After 5 days, the bass has tightened up more, trebles not as harsh as before. I love the sound sig on these babies.

Is the bass overwhelming. Have always wanted to try this but I was always afraid of the bass. I switched from my Gr07 to my old MeeElec M6 because i like the sound signature more on the M6...... Does the treble of the Elpis sound close to the Gr07?

I think it is good that they are taking there time and getting it "right"! Also you did pre order it, right. I can't see this worthy of complaining!
You don't see it worthy of complaining cause well, you didn't deal with treoo or are in Singapore for the matter, as you are a reviewer, you have gotten the review sample before us customers. But what ticks me off is the lack of communication between treoo, null and rooth with respect to lead times. Whist yes I agree, good things take time, I have been told many times that my order would arrive by the next shipment if not the shipment after the next. I am not the only one experiencing this issue as other elpis buyers are also experiencing this. Basically a lack of communication between the seller and buyer is getting on my nerves, a simple note to tell me that my order would have been delayed would have been nice since I was told I would get my elpis by end of May buy rather, received empty promises from treoo. Btw you said that you found the treble offensive, is yours the revised version? :)

Okay, i do not agree with them going back on the statements they make, that is certainly wrong indeed. However what i said is nothing to do with me being a reviewer. I was just saying pre ordering an item is different to ordering something from Westone and JH. I am about to receive the revived version where i think they have toned down the treble.

You have the version with the green damper inside right? That one sounds... annoying. The revised version is a lot more bearable in the treble, but I only heard the version with the vent, so it was quite bassy, though it seemed to have been tilted more toward sub-bass than before, so that's a good change. Anyway, I sent it off to Lachs to listen.

Correct, i have the green dampener and will be getting the latest version with the red dampener. I had no time for an extra bassy version and to be fair (hence i chose the one i have)the one i have is actually fairly pleasant through the bass and into the lower midrange. It could do with a bit more deep bass oomph, it is there but is not very visceral and i guess dynamic are lacking in the midrange as well. However, i would say you get too about 2k, maybe a bit further on and it gets painful. High mids are shouty, thin and just generally hurt and the treble is like glass smashing. I am quite hopeful for the revision though!

The bass should definitely be better balanced with the revision with more sub-bass emphasis. The unvented version probably will have less sub-bass (just because of the physical dynamics of venting vs. not) but the issue with the thin high mids is still there, just no longer shrill.
