Well that's good, but now that I have recently bought the X3 1st gen, I'll look to use it for a while and probably upgrade later to a higher end DAP if all goes well. I am targeting a headphone purchase this year and need a better amp than my E07k just to better the sound signature to my liking.
I have both the FiiO E12 and E12A. Both the E12 and Cayin C5 have the capability to drive power hungry cans. From what I've heard from several fellow HeadFi-ers, the Cayin C5 is usually considered to be the better of the two. As far as refinement goes, both the JDS Labs C5 and the E12A are well ahead of the other two but down on driving capability. In fact, the E12A is solely targeted as an IEM amp.
Here is a comparison of the E12 and E12A from my personal experiences with the two:
Background - E12A has a darker background and does not hiss at all even when turning the volume pot.
Power - E12 can deliver a lot of output power when it comes to power-hungry cans. E12A is targeted at IEMs.
Sound - E12A is most neutral sounding FiiO amp I have owned. The E12 packs more low-end punch but the E12A offers more control, clarity, better mids and cleaner treble.
Soundstage - E12A has a wider soundstage but not exactly huge. I've heard that the JDS Labs C5 excels in this department.
Battery Life - E12A has a longer battery life.

why do you wanna make a bulky setup? i would recommend a desktop amp fed by x3 line out for best bang for buck. you can use x3 for ultimate portability. on the go its hard to listen to all details anyways.
Shreyas, the offer is always open. But explore the option of getting an adapter cable to hook your Player to the GO. People have done it and reported very good results.

I agree my setup is be a two device stack, also got the stacking kit last week. And yes, for ultimate portability I would definitely be using the X3 solo.
But as you know, my friend, in the pursuit of perfect sound (to quote Sennheiser) it isn't all about portability; its about the best sound you can get while still being able to carry the rig around, and at the same time not looking like a robot, in my opinion. Thus I'm looking to enjoy the ride, as they say, and not worry about the portability (while still keeping it portable).
But your desktop amp idea sounds good, though my current savings account would tell me I'm a lunatic to even think about another audio device, let alone two! And I say this to my account, money comes and goes, but good sound just keeps on coming, eh?
Three cheers for audiophilia, three cheers to Sennheiser and their humble ear buds for setting me off on this sound quest.
And cheers to the music, lest we forget.

Just get it from Penon/MP4Nation. I was charged no custom duties for my B3 Pro1 that I had bought from Penon.
And like you're read around they are keepers for the sheer soundstage they provide and the very neutral and detailed sound.

Smooth, Which I can listen to hours without fatigue. Kind of surround sound type .. VSD3S are have perfect sound for me .. It is just the Surroundness of Sound which is less compared to Open Back Headphones I once heard.
So for my once and for all liking Sound same as VSD3S and Openness of Grado SR80's ...
I hope i was able to deliver the thought in my mind ...
