I ordered a pair of the R-20's and they should be here on Monday or Tuesday so I'll post my impressions either in a small post in here or start another thread because this is more about the R-50 now.  If they sound better than some of the other SR based IEM's like the A151 and PL50 then $39.99 is a great price, I don't know of really any single BA IEM that came out new for under or at $40.

Let us know if you start another thread for r-20

I know what you mean, but you can order them from the Etymotic site I think you get like 3 pair s for $14.  Just go to etymotic.com and click on one of the IEM's like the HF5 and go to the accessories, they have others sizes and some foam tips also.

You can get a 10 pack from Amazon of the same eartips for a few dollars cheaper:

Burned them in for a day, and with triple flange eartips, beginning to enjoy them.

Glad to hear it, just give them time you'll begin to really enjoy just how good the detail is along with the good imaging and separation.

After what Microsound said I was about to cancel my order but he gave no reason why the sounded "crappy" trolling maybe, I really don't think they're going to be that bad.  They use a Knowles SR driver and I don't know of any IEM's with that driver that just sound bad.

I found some tips that make the R-50's already good size sound stage sound even better with the Atrio MG7's bi flange tips.  I don't know why they do but the sound stage has more width and depth with some add height. Compared to the Ety tri flange the Atrio tips feel more open and full and gives the R-50 a bigger sound thats not much different from the TF10's sound stage, with the recessed mids the TF10 is still just a touch larger but not by much.  I was never a believer in tips changing the sound so much to where its very noticeable until now.  You can get a 6 pack for $12 from futuresonics.com its well worth it imo.

Are these the ones that came with your Atrio MG7 M5 or you got them afterwards?  Which size fits you the best?

Is there a change in bass quality and quantity with these tips?

Yes they're the tips that came with my MG7's and for me the size that came on the Atrio are the ones that work the best for me, they're the medium size tips.  As for the bass the quality is still the same but there is a change in the quantity with added depth and punch, its not a huge change but enough to notice.  I really like the way the soundstage is now like I said it just feel more open and full, imo its worth the $12 for the tips, I thought it was 6 sets but its 3 pair with 6 tips total.

Just saw that my R-20's will be here tomorrow so after a few days of listening to them I'll start a review thread for it.
