Reviewers wanted - Sound Blaster products
Jul 9, 2015 at 3:14 PM Post #17 of 291
Hi,

I am new to Head-Fi, but would like to compare the Sound Blaster E5 Portable Headphone Amplifier to my ifi Nano.

I am very impressed with the Nano's sound and abilities and would like to see how the Sound Blaster compares.

 Head-Fi username: Location (City/Country):  RogerThat (Colorado Springs/USA)
Do you own any similar products? If yes, which: Yes, ifi Nano
Previous review(s): I have reviewed audio on Amazon, not on Head-Fi
How would you help us to evangelize the product? It depends if I am impressed with the Sound Blaster or not.  If it does not compare favorably to the ifi Nano, I would not evangelize it.  If it does, I will certainly spread the word via blog, Amazon review, word-of-mouth.

Thanks!

I would like to review about your Sound Blaster Roar 2 Portable Speaker. I don't own any of your products yet but I think it's time for me to review and compare it to other competitive brands. I assure that I am a good commentator for I am a music lover, and I am technology trends lover. Best regards, Winston.

Which product(s) you would like to review:

E5 Portable Headphone Amplifier (Only this since I have been passionate about the idea of this product since I heard about it).
I almost lost it when I heard Sound Blaster was releasing a portable Bluetooth amp with the power to drive 600 ohm headphones.  I'm surprised I didn't have a stroke when I saw it has a 24-bit/192kHz DAC and the fact that you can still tether it with a USB cable or optical link was the end of me.  It is exactly what I dreamed of for my difficult to drive Beyerdynmaic T1 600 ohm headphones and to cut the cables away from my phones and systems.

I also have the Grado PS500/225i/SR60, Senheiser HD650, AKG K550, Sony MDR-V55, Porta Pro, Koss KSC75 that I think would all shine with it.

Do you own any similar products? If yes, which:
I own a Fiio E17 and E18 dac (not designed for high impedance) and a M-Stage Matrix headphone amp as well as several full size amps.

I am not really a reviewer specifically although I spend a lot of time writing small rants about equipment I love in several communities. BUT I am a good amature photographer and can generate a large number of beautiful images and videos with the unit and various audiophile headphones.  I would also be happy to write some reviews of the sound and relevant samples of my writing about various equipment can be found in the comments below the photos linked here.  Any review that I write would be honest but as you can tell by my reviews I am very open to a variety of diff rent sound signatures and would be happy to speak about where the product excels and which headphones pair best with it.

How would you help us to evangelize the product?
I am a member of the Head-Fi community and also the r/headphones, r/headphoneporn, r/audiophile, r/budgetaudiphile, imgur communities which become very excited about good visuals and new products.  I'm not sure that evangelize is the right term but people in these communities do love a good honest review, discussion and lots of photos.  I enjoy talking to people about new products and innovations.  You have something really interesting and innovative here that I think is going to impress people.  I would be very excited to share information about it with these communities.

Other communities I can share this product with  are the Android phone/table community and the local Ottawa headphone meet which I am hoping to join on the next meeting.

I would also do an HD un-boxing with a production level camera, lighting and studio microphone.

How would you help us to evangelize the product? I have a music blog that is starting to attract visitors that I will post my review on, as well as a review here. I have been a long time supporter of Creative (I still use my original 8Gb Zen) and will champion the brand to my friends (many of which work in the music industry both behind and in front of the microphone)

I've used creative sounds cards on many computers. Quite interested to see what gear your company can make for headphones.

1) Which product you would like to review:
Sound Blaster E5 Portable Headphone Amplifier

2) Head-Fi username:
titaniumgrade5 (USA/ohio)

3) Do you own any similar products? If yes, which:
ibasso D7 sidewinder / My other dacs/amps are rather large and for different purposes.

4) Link(s) to a previous review(s):

etc

I coauthor (and have for many years) a technology news column in a long running USA materials and engineering journal, several pages in each issue. (PM me if you're interested in the magazine reference. For it contains personal details...)

5) How would you help us?
Well, I'd write a review on this and another well known audio website. Can do an HD youtube video, with studio video and sound, if the product is good :)

If I didn't already own a soundblaster E5 I would totally be interested in this!

the E5 is awesome! It gets a LOT of use. A fairly impressive DAC for those on the go. The bluetooth is far superior to most any device i've ever used with bluetooth. Very impressive!
The headphone amp is also quite good! It can get my HIFIMAN HE560's up to a moderate volume. But this DAC pairs better with my Oppo PM3's.

Which product(s) you would like to review: E5 and In-Ear3

Head-Fi username: mtliu

Location (City/Country): Lexington, USA

Do you own any similar products? Fiio E17K and FiioE7K. Rock-it R-50, Shure E4, UE super.fi 3, and Nox Scout.

How would you help us to evangelize the product? I won't evangelize the product unless it is awesome, then I would mention it almost any appropriate opportunity. I will also be evaluating the product in a live music situation: the E5 for outboard audio in a club and the In-Ear3 as use for live music monitoring instead of professional IEMs.
